Default GMG RACING l New Product spotlight - GMG WEC Version Roll Bar

GMG WEC Series Roll / Harness Bar

Racing pedigree is the foundation in which a manufacturer stands on for its proclaimed success. This is where road-going sports cars are developed and put to the ultimate trial. In order to pay homage to the greatest form of sports car racing, we introduce the WEC Roll / Harness bar for the 991 platform.
Inspired by Porsche's highly anticipated 991 GT2 RS, the ultimate version of the 6 cylinder, rear engine sports car. We have looked to our own racing pedigree to design and produce a key element of the vehicle that currently holds the record for its class on the Nurburgring.
The 4-point design features an X-braced main hoop with rearward extending arms and diagonal bar tying the shock towers together. The front legs are bolted down directly to a structural cross-member, while the rear arms are attached to the rear shock towers. Through testing we found this design to provide the best trade-off between increased structural support and additional weight while providing protection to the driver and a place to mount racing harnesses in their proper fashion.

Highlights:
- Made of 4130 chrome-moly
-Tig welded to AWM specs and normalized.
-Can be used with stock seatbelts or 6 point harnesses for track use
-Laser notched joints for precision fit.
-Designed to work standard reclining seats or GT3 fixed back seats, offering drivers the ability to move the seat all the way back.
-No fabrication required. Instalation is 100% "bolt-in". Minor trimming to the carpet is necessary.
-Standard finish is a durable satin black powder-coat. Optional colors are available at an additional cost.

Looks really good!

What would you say is the order of strength vs weight for your available roll bars?

Can you see out of the rear view mirror with these ok? I'm 6' tall and drive with my bucket as low as possible.

I'm 6'1" and also sit with the lwb as low as possible. Seeing out the rear view with the WEC bar is no problem, although the top corners are a bit constricted - but if you need to see what's in those corners, you've probably got other problems . Gotta say, I'm super happy with the quality of this bar. Oh, and here's a crappy pic of my interior.

this is a great bar - was the first modification to my new '18 GT3 - 2nd modification was removing the PCCB's for a future owner - steel rotors on the track for me!

no regrets!

Could you build just the straight across "harness bar" portion, and forgo all the additional bracing / rollover protection?

I and a few others are looking for a less intrusive straight bar design.

Best Regards,
Dave

Speaking of inventory, just bought yesterday the GMG center exhaust for my incoming 991.2 GT3. The exhaust looks gorgeous. Going to have the dealer install it before I even pick her up.
