Right now the Sclass and AMG GT seem to be excluded, but other AMG's are available for the ED program.
Yes, this is great, but they don't make too many exciting cars. E63 wagon was on my list, but it has thinner profile tires than a gt3 (not an exaggeration) and would need a support vehicle to drive next to it when driven in the mountains where I live. Everything else is either overdue for an update (e.g., GLE63 which is ML63 which is wooly mammoth) or bland.

What do you mean about the support vehicle for the e63.. it was unreliable?

Very low profile tires and (soft stock wheels, but that can be addressed), so wheels get damaged easily when driving over even small debris, like an occasional fallen rock, or when taking it on a soft/gravel road to get into a park or to a trail. My business partner used to have one for a few years, and he ended up needing roadside assistance & wheel repairs more than once a year just driving in SF. It's just a PITA in SF, but it's a major no-no somewhere where you can have more bears than people around. Sorry for OT. I just like AMG a lot but cannot find a car from them that would fit my needs.

I've had a lot of problems with the light 19" CL65 wheels.
Just get the wheel / tire insurance option. Was glad I did.

Put SRF and Pagid R29 pads on my E63 and taking it to the track Saturday....
We will see.

AWD won't be great and this old model I'm sure is iffy on track.
But suspension is rock hard, even in comfort mode it's stiffer then RS, brakes are huge and flappies shift moderately quick in AMG mode.

A C63 new E63 and AMG GT should be OK for track visits in Europe and light tracking once home.

Max, I have the cast wheels on my E63 and they do seem to bend easily. Planning on forged wheels for the next one, hopefully will help. Perhaps worth a try? Hard to get away from low profile tires on any performance car (even most SUVs like X5M, the AMGs, etc.)

Trakcar, curious to hear how it does on track. Planning to go soon too, hopefully the ceramics hold up.

I wish they would sell the C63 wagon here, but the GLC63 looks like it could be a fun alternative, and more practical WRT ground clearance, and having AWD.

Ah, now I understand what he was referring to.

I had similar issue with rims and tires on BMW 5 series wagon. 19inch wheels in SF.. yep, that's me! So, i went up slightly in sidewall profile (from 30&35 to 35 and 40 aspect ratio) and not only does the wheel well now fill out aesthetically, but much more comfortable ride and no bent rims. I made sure to keep outer diameter constant between front and rear due to the awd system and it's been great. I'm looking at used e63 wagons right now, they depreciated nicely after the first 10k miles because few seem to appreciate how badass they are.. first mod will be to increase tirewall size.

I love the idea of a hooligan drift gang E63 wagon club.
