I had a similar but different experience. I own a 991.1 Turbo. Drove a 15 GT3 the other day however on the streets and not on a closed course

I am now selling my Turbo, trying for a .2(only at MSRP) but will get a .1 if .2 doesn't happen. Total out of body experience.

Damn you. That's what I'm hunting for at this moment. On one hand, I'll save taxes when I trade in for new, but on the other, the new one will cost $30k markup and it won't be an RS.

Are you sure? It is addictive

Yeah. I drove a '15 today too. It's like a drug. I hope you get yours soon. I am still dreaming about that baby.

Perfectly well said. You thinking manual or PDK if you decide to get one?

Its an incredible car. A real treat every time I jump behind the wheel. I had mine out today for 30 min quick shoot up the highway and come back roads.

So in other words, you'll love everything about it and the fact that it won't kill you.
As the Elise did try to kill me (ever put one on its roof?) that is good to know.

So this test drive- what made you feel it's a racecar vs street car wanting to be a racecar? What's the discernible difference that sets it apart? Mike

I'm torn. I want the PDK because I track the crap out of my cars, but the Porsche manual is so sweet and with auto rev-matching, no need to worry about heel-toe screwing up my laps.

I am leaning toward manual.

An NYC owner! Where did you drive it? This city is so suffocating for the motorist lol

Jesus... I once spun mine on the Taconic after hitting the second cam but nothing like that!!

Great question! It's the reflexes and seriousness of it. Race cars tend to be twitchy and amazingly responsive to even fingertip inputs. I noticed that right away with the GT3. The brake pedal is very firm, like it's saying, "don't push me unless you mean it." It gives you confidence the harder you drive. It has excellent grip. It revs into space. And you're not as cocooned from the elements or sounds as you are in a Turbo S.

Basically, it's taut and serious. It's happiest when it's being flogged around corners and powering out of them. #racecar

It gets better with time. This is the first car that took me a few miles to get used to. I focus on driving smooth and this car really rewards this. I also find the PDK very engaging as I only drive it in manual out on the road. So much usable instant power and you can feed just the right amount through the throttle.

For many roads where the strait stretches are few, I find myself short shifting and just keeping it around 5K or so. Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The PCCBs allow just a light touch to correct any extra speed interning a turn.
