Default Why so much bashing for GT3 Touring?

Sorry to make a new thread about it but I just dont get it

When 911R came out, I heard bunch of guys crying for more 911R and porsche comes out with GT3 Touring with cheaper price, very similar design, improved engine minus CF hood and magnesium roof. And people start bashing it. What the hack is problem here? To be, the car looks pretty damn good and will serve as great 911R replacement + hopefully get rid of flippers since it showed that porsche can really screw these flippers. And yes 911R will depreciate.

#5 Not really a GT3 "Motorsport" car without wing. It should be a separate car line all together such as a "touring" series that maximize driving feel but as usable as a standard 911.

I get 2, 3 and maybe 4

but 5 who cares its not like porsche is forcing ppl to get wingless gt3. If you want wing, you can get wing

The people hating on it likely aren't the people who were begging for it. You do understand that there are different opinions among GT3 fans right?

Also, while I like the look of the GT3 Touring, it is NOT identical to the 911R and, IMO at least, isn't nearly as good looking. I'd take the 911R front and rear ends over the GT3 Touring all day and twice on Sunday, and I'd pay a premium for it. The differences are subtle, but sometimes the devil's in the details and those details can have a big impact.

That said, I'd love a GT3 touring.

There's always a small but very vocal group of people that like to hate on a number of different things.... like Antifa

Do not hate it. Just like the 911 R- no interest. Boring looking to me.

But - I am happy they made it- Why??

- May be with the Touring package they will soon release more rounds of allocations- that will happen. Just like the .1 GT3/RS. Dealers/Instigators say they are done and more waves get released
- Should teach a lesson to the 911R flippers. Never found the car that Special but now Porsche really "screwed the pooch" but they never told any one the car was going to appreciate
- Good to see this new Engine being used in "sort of' different variant. I expect a Convertible to come next.

They will probably release more allocations but I don't think it is because they added a new option to the GT3 configuration.

A lot of the (smart) flippers have already flipped the R. The damage is already done. The 2nd guy gets screwed but Porsche doesn't care.

I think choice is good. I know some people are really happy about this car, and good for them. If it doesn't happen to be my cup of tea, I just keep my mouth shut. No need to rain on someone else's parade.

We tend to associate GT cars with a big rear wing and if Porsche badge this car anything else but a GT3, I think a lot of negative comment will be gone.

But it's just the badge anyway. And I don't look at this car as a GT3 without a rear wing, but instead, I look at this car as a Carrera GTS with a optional "Motorsport Package".

Agree, the touring pack is like the clubsport pack for RoW. you can make the GT3 a little more sporty with the clubsport pack or a little less sporty with the touring. same same

Because it's a car that have some features that are against GT philosophy and has GT3 in it's name.
Name it differently and problem is solved. Like 911SB (soft *****).
