I'm actually surprised by the take rate of the touring - ~25% as of this post.
Given the early allocations couldn't/can't spec touring, I think the GT3T will be the most in demand model in the second hand market. I'm still going with wing, but I certainly see the appeal of the touring.

I agree the resale will be easier (not discussing values) as a wingless GT3 will appeal to a wider range of second hand buyers..

PDK + Wing, this is a GT3 !
Touring is appealing, but too close to a Carrera, and the R is the R and would remain the R, even if the new GT3 engine is better.
PDK because it s a race track focused car, it implies E-diff and the box is so fast !

I voted wing/manual because that's what I'm getting but my order locked before the Touring option was available. I'm not losing any sleep over it but I might've gone Touring if I'd had the choice. I like them both and each has pros and cons for me so it would've been a really tough decision. I'm almost relieved I didn't have to choose. Because I probably would've spec'd touring then gotten a severe case of wing-envy upon delivery.

Quick vibe / poll now we have details of more choices with this variant of GT3 . (hard to think, model before had pdk only and limited exterior and interior choices, such as seats etc)
Which way will people go now all the talking is done and an order has to be locked in.

Going all Black but with the silver wheels and accents. Not going to put the R stripes on.
EDIT** Flipped to a Chalk with Black accents..
2nd EDIT **.. Flipped back again... stuffed if I know. Keep changing my mind ! . Spend half my time complaining not enough choice, then when there is, spend the other half not being able to make a choice. Lots to be said about buying secondhand as either accepting as is or not !!!!
3rd EDIT** double flipped with a 720 twist and ended up with GT silver. !

So partially to bump this thread and get a few more voters out of interest.
But a question to ponder... if total GT3 numbers are circa 3000 then 20% touring would make it rarer then the R ?

I just speced mine wing manual. My inner 12 year old like wings. To me without the wing it's just another 911.

Not sure if the 3000 number is right, but need to subtract the early builds from the total.

Yep -- Wing and PDK votes include those who were early and didn't have the Touring option. Not that it matters much -- I'm not building my car for others.

If total GT car capacity is around 40/day and there are roughly 225 working days in Germany, that's 9000 GT cars per year. Subtract out GT2RS production and GT3RS production and lets say its 5000-6000 per year. So far we know there's production thru 2018 so that's somewhere around 8000-12000 GT3s worldwide (if you include 2017 production).

PDK with wing.
I have a 15 GTS with PDK and just love the sound of the transmission doing instant shifts at RPM. With PDKS and the new 4.0 going to 9K the car will be amazing. If Porsche did a PDK Touring I would think about it, but doesn't seem like a deal; imagine what Suncoast will want for the rear lid with wing!
My sales rep says my car goes to build in November, 18.
