Pluses for the touring package - 1.no stripes on the seats,2. for manual only drivers= wifey can't drive it lol, 3.could make excuses if I lose to pdk winged gt3's at the track, lol. 4. A Little old school flavor.
Saving the wings, track suspension, and harness bars for the gt4,gt3rs, gt350R. It's hard to drive those cars to a nice dinner event.

Minuses- 1. Lost of air scoops and aeros= lost of some performance. 2. NO PTS, wanted a green 911, the frog.

At the end, this is a production street legal car, my conclusion is to make it the ultimate analog NA performance capable street car. This way I can take it out without the unwanted attention from boy racers. Tons of miles not just the once or twice a month track days.
Still have second doubts for missing the PTS allocation, which took a lot of effort to get.
You just scored yourself a 911R clone with a better motorsport engine, what's not to like about it?! Well done sir.

that's right, all allocations are given to the dealers (sort of) and it's up to them to decide who they want to sell the car to in order to maximize their profits. If you go ask about leaving a deposit to be on the wait list of any .2 GT3, they will turn you away. However, if you say you have a highly desirable car to trade in and am willing to pay for premium, suddenly, you get your allocation.

This GT3 touring package is just the perfect 911 to me, unfortunately, I can't afford to pay premium.

What do you guys think of the small trim piece on the rear wing?? Kind of seems like a stuck on afterthought.

I much prefer the 991.2 Carrera Sport Design Package rear spoiler that has a small overhang and bump. At least it's a one piece molded design.

Thoughts?

The lip on the Touring package reminds me of what BMW slapped on the E46 M3. I liked it then and I like it now. It also extends the slight rise in the black grille above it. Subtle and functional.

This car would have been perfect with the Ducktail. Just the right amount of differentiation from the other models, and with the rear diffuser, to boot---would have ticked all the boxes for a modern classic.

The .2 Sport Design tail looks awful IMO. The best looking option would simply to do the same thing as the R. No need for the little Gurney flap. Looks like a cheap aftermarket bit.

The Ducktail would have rocked

.2 tail isn't the best, I know. Better than this thing though. Although, does provide "something" I'm sure with downforce, etc.

Reminds me of this piece, stuck on with double sided tape.

A wingless GT3 just doesn't look good. That dog don't hunt! Just my humble opinion. Its one thing to temporarily take the wing of the RS off and put it back on for the track. Its another thing to not have the wing in the garage at all when you feel like you want to put it back on.

So much trolling. The R never had a mezger engine, as they stopped production with the 997.1. The reviews have been favourable for the 991.2 4.0 over the 991.1 4.0. So, no, so far, none of what you've stated is at all accurate. There have been no issues reported regarding the 991.2 4.0 thus far, as much as I've seen on the forums. Will the 991.2 have reliability issues? Yes, time will tell regarding that, just as any new car's reliability must be examined over time.

Fun fact. In Germany you cannot get a Touring anymore.
All GT3 allocations are gone. So much for "getting the R that you missed out on..."
