I need an education on what the status is to get an allocation for a 991 GT3? Are there still allocations being released do you get a deposit at the dealer and hope one come available?

Get your name on the list now for a 992.1 GT3. Then start calling dealers to see if you can find an allocation for a 991.2. You might be able to find one with ADM, but good dealers for MSRP.

Trolling would be my guess as well, but with 1500 plus posts, maybe more about having fun and seeing reactions.

So, here's my reaction. Trade in your 997.2 GT3 and your GT4 that you have for sale, you should have no problem being labelled a VIP and getting your 991.2 GT3. Do it quick, because once the 991.2 GT3's start rolling in, the real market value for your cars will likely drop. Fun!

Tough crowd! In all seriousness it's a legitimate question. I ask only because I asked a dealer in Colorado if they had allocations and I was told they are all committed and years out at this point. I was surprised as I did not think they had limit restrictions on this car?

Sorry, Not trolling. I just don't read every post on rennlist like I used to when I was younger.

I would hope hope to be a VIP at this point. I have 5 Porsche's in my garage at the moment. All serviced at the same dealership. I've owned many more. I am on the fence to get a pre-owned GT3RS (trading in the GT3 & GT4) or wait and order a new GT3.

Anyway sorry if I'm coming off naive.

Thin air at altitude = less oxygen for the brain. Thats the only way I can explain the VIP delusion posted. I would definitely discount Alzheimer or dementia for now.

To OP, in all honesty, read the many threads on page one of the 991 GT3 sub-thread and that will give you an idea of what others are faced with in getting allocations.

Taking it a step further, trade your GT3 and GT4 in and get a preowned RS; you don't have to wait a year to drive it

To OP- read some of your other posts. Cool gig. Congrats.

As for the GT3.2, as with all other GT cars recently, its turned into a royal pain in the rear to secure these things unless you own a 918. I've been really fortunate to get allocations for these cars, hate to say it, but mostly through dumb luck- being at right place at right time.

I would think that given the business you now run and how successful it has become, you should be able to foster a great relationship with a dealer and start to get allocations for future cars. Best of luck.

There has just been so much BS on this topic lately, fueled by people with agendas other than provide honest information, that it's hard to take anyone seriously.

The dealers already know how many allocations they will get, and it seems your local dealer already has all his 2018 allocations committed. I applaud your dealer for honoring his commitments and not be a greedy SOB. Beyond 2018, that's where the rumors start flying. One side says that Porsche will keep churning out GT3's so long as there is a demand so be patient, the other says production will stop so you better pay an extra $10-$20K to get what they have now. If I were you, with the great stable of cars you already have, I would wait and see what happens after the winter months. I would hate to be the fool that gets taken advantage of.

I am seeing a few ways to try to get an allocation:

1. Get on list before car is announced (too late now)

2. Goto a Porsche dealer that you have previously done business with

3. Buy a new or preowned Porsche and make it part of the sales agreement for an allocation

Porsche South Bay has an allocation at 20-30k over if you or anyone is interested. They are adamant that they have a line of clients willing to pay that premium and that anyone waiting for an allocation with other dealers @msrp are wasting their time.
