Regardless, you can't start your break in until you get your car in your hands, so I'm not sure what the point is of knowing this information especially when the 991.1 GT3 break in is well known and ultra conservative.

My personal opinion is it's still good to rev them to redline, but not 'shock the drivetrain' be sure to shift easier, etc... but still excercise (at times) all the RPM.

Curious to hear other's opinions as well.

With my mezger machines i went directly from factory to the nurburgring. with the 2nd car it pretty much stayed there for 3 years. all the delivery guy said was just get it nice and warmed up first. never had a problem. i will do the same with this one come spring.

you are picking up in November? brave soul! hopefully its not snowing! i got lucky with first weekend of november and no snow but that only happened once in 4 years i lived there. be really careful!

If you dont have time to do a proper break-in before then, just ask, and im sure you will easily find a volunteer here who would be willing to do it for you free of charge!

I know... I'm worried about the 'weather'... but was the soonest week for ED based on my allocation. So I'll have them put the winter tires on, and if weather isn't good for the 'Ring' or SPA, I figured I'll rent something at the track.

Glad to hear the same break in procedure I'm used to. Frankly, starting at Leipzig, then the next day Zuffenheisen, and then 2 more days of sight seeing... it should easly have 700 to 1000 miles on it by the time I get to SPA on Friday and the Ring on Saturday.

Best Regards,
Dave

PS.. thank you Mchrono!

I would do same as you in that situation. well hoping for the best! i thought GT cars don't have any underbody protection? If they have the brine trucks out when you get there just have it trailered to warmer parts. track days at mugello and imola aren't bad that time of year.

How bad would it be if say some hit 9k a hand full of times before 100miles in a .2 GT3RS?..

Any future warranty issues?

If the oil was at operating temp, no issues.

No warranty issues unless over a range 3 over-rev.

Fake news. You can. We've seen over revs in Range #1 and Range #2 on PDK cars.

It's very rare. But can happen. Don't worry about it. Just wanted to correct the record.

Great news! What’s a range 1,2, or 3 over rev? Sorry for the ignorance, I’m new to these.

Nothing in the grand scheme.

Range 1-6 range over revs are traditionally for older generation metzger engines (or manual gearbox cars) and typically there was not a lot of cause for concern with <range 3 over revs; anything >range 4-6 would require some due diligence in terms of how long the car had been rev'd at those amounts and if it would require disassembly for replacing parts.
