I've been dying to open up my RS but mostly been shuffling through local traffic. What are some good (safe) driving roads around Long Island that I can open up and have some fun. Doesn't need to be super fast, just some good corners, minimal lights, etc...

get up really early and come up my way. There are some great roads with little to no traffic in the area. Im about a hour half from LI. The roads up in Duchess county are mint. especially early in the morn on Saturday or Sunday. after 11 am they all suck..everywhere.

Try Bear Mountain, while not Long Island, its not that far from NYC. You will be pleased with the roads there.

You should download the GTS Route app. The app lets users recommend/review nice driving roads. I tried it for the first time and its not bad.

Lots of good suggestions.

I moved to Rye, NY a few years ago as all the good roads are North of the City. I always head north early in the morning - I head to Weaver St in Greenwich and pass through to the 22, then go pretty much anywhere.
