991 GT3 alignment
Searched and could not find a satisfactory answer.
What track alignment are you folks using on the 991 GT3?
For dedicated track car...and for those that will see double duty.
I'm coming from a e92 M3 with Camber plates that I use to adjust my camber on track days....but I'm looking for a set up with my new GT3 that is more track oriented, and still useable as a daily.
thanks in advance.

Member orthojoe has a whole thread dedicated to this. I'm surprised it didn't come up in your search. Maybe your search terms are too specific and you need to allow for more flexibility.

here's orthojoe's thread
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...d-journal.html
i had -2.7F zero toe, -2.5R min toe in, but had to much inner tread wear so backed it off to -2.3F zero toe, -2.0 R min toe in
mine sees double duty and was done with shims so caster is off a bit (10 as opposed to 8-9 OEM)
here is my thread on alignment and tire wear:
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...ad-wear-2.html
here are some great diagrams I stole from ShakeNBake
STOCK
SHIMS - note the repositioning of tire, up towards fender and outward at the tire/wheel bottom--just pushing the bottom out more than the top.
CAMBER PLATES -- note the "stock" and "shims" are shadows and bold is the wheel/tire properly centered and pulled in at top, while bottom is near stock position
this shows relative wheel/tire position compared to stock but NOT the camber element..

joe's thread is not on the first page, but all hits have one of the terms above, so you are right, not specific enough results for the specificity of the query, unless you go to "advanced search"... then dropdown keyword menu "search title only"

PS--I use tarrett race camber plates up front and TPC toe links in back on my GT4 to maintain caster and get the same camber and toe results...I believe you can also use RSS thrust arms bearings or caster pucks to get similar results

Wow! Thanks for all that info. Been tracking and messing with my M3 set up for 5 years...but know essentially nothing about GT3's.
I'm thinking I'm going to go with just added negative camber in all four corners....learn how to drive the car...before doing much more.

Those diagrams were insightful. Thanks!

My 2016 GT3 RS Owner's Manual says that -1.3 all around is a good compromise for street and track use.
What have others done that made the car better?
I will rarely track my car, instead I plan to use it mostly for spirited canyon runs....

Play with the sway bar adjustments first before you mess with the alignment. If you want more then add from there. You'd be surprised how much of a difference it can make.

If you arent tracking the car, I would leave it a stock alignment. You really shouldnt need an aggressive alignment for canyon driving. Or even want it for that matter. Probably no positives that would come from track alignment for street use and a whole lotta negatives (uneven tire wear and less contact patch on the road being the biggest).
