Default Who's getting what seats?

I've read all the numerous threads with wide ranging opinions about the seat options, with what seems like a large consensus of folks swearing by the LWBs, others admit LWBs look better, but choose either 4-ways or 18-ways for comfort and/or convenience. But I'm curious when push comes to shove what the majority of people actually do. My hunch is that LWBs dominate here on RL but are probably in the minority of builds in the real world. Still, I'm curious what poll results will show.

This is not intended to be a "what would you do" poll, but rather get a sense of actual orders. So if you have taken delivery or have ordered a 991.2 GT3, please participate! Thanks!

Full disclosure: I have a build with 18-ways that freezes 8/28. I'm still on the fence about switching to the buckets before it's too late. I have 3-4 good, logical, well-thought-out reasons for going with the 18-ways (some of which, admittedly, have to do with my wife), but there remains a nagging feeling that buckets are the "right" seat for a GT car.

LWB only for me. When I was shopping for my 997 I wouldn't even consider a car without them and wouldn't even consider ordering a new car without them.

There is no doubt LWB's look fantastic but their sweet spot is on the track IMO. They are not easy to get in or out of and women seem to dislike them which may not matter to some. Previous surveys suggest real track rats are few but love them and some say the best racing seats are aftermarket which can be better and cheaper. As the market settles I would assume some will refuse to buy a car without them and others with them.

My wife was ok with the 18-ways in my GT3.1 but refuses to get in my GT3.2 with the folding buckets.....and the bad thing about that is??

18 ways for me. Not a track rat and I am the only one driving my toys.

LWB definitely. I had them on my GT4 and I loved them - very comfortable to both my wife and me. A little challenging to get into and out of, but not enough to even worry about for us. YMMV

Have the 18-ways on my GT3.1 (second owner) and ordered my GT4 with 4-ways (every bit as good as the 18-ways, by the way; save the $$$). But after driving a fellow RLer's GT3 w/LWBs this year, my fears of the LWBs were misplaced. More comfortable than I expected and easier to get into and out of that I thought/remembered when I tried once in a show room. In showroom I was probably being too timid placing my hands on the car since it wasn't mine and was a new car awaiting delivery to a customer that my SA let me sit in.

Wife wont like them, but in retrospect, I can count on one hand (with a few fingers unused) how many times she has riden in my GT3 or GT4. And she complains about it anyway even with the 18-ways. So I'm not building to appease her since that won't work no matter what I do.

The LWBs look the business, are actually quite comfortable, and seem to be a critical must-have to most buyers on resale too. What's more, I was surprised after driving the GT3 with them that when I immediately got back in mine, I couldn't get the 18-ways low enough for my comfort vs the LWBs just driven. Took awhile to lose that sensation. So there's that too.

IMHO
LWB or 4 ways
Unless you have multiple drivers 4 ways will work the same as 18 ways and a lot cheaper
With that said had 4 ways in my 15 GT3 and going LWB for my .2

4 ways--- this car is not going to be tracked- that's what my RS is for. As such no need to look ridiculous getting in/out of this thing. My wife is happier too, so that's ultimately the most important thing.

It's a GT3. Of course Full Bucket Seats. I'm only in my mid-50's. Too young for the sofas!

I extensively tracked a 991 C4S with 18 way seats, didn't have good lateral support for my torso. Then I put folding buckets (from the 997 GT2RS) in my 991 GT3, and guess what? Did NOT have more lateral support either. Then got the 991 GT3RS with fixed buckets, same deal, not much lateral support for the torso. That said, buckets allow harness and Hans. Are those better than airbags? No idea. To me, after market with proper lateral support and halos are best but LWB is a looks and sales pitch. My opinion, not trying to argue with anyone.
