Bring the voodoo RS. It's been there before. It's fast.
I agree that this event is overcrowded and the DE participants are pretty slow. However, still will be a fun weekend.
I'm working that weekend or else I'd drive down and hang out.

I'm going just for the fun and to meet some peeps. Will be traveling either down from Dallas or up from San Antonio. We could also make a run to Lockharts or Salt Lick or Franklins for some brisket.

I used Task Rabbit to get LA BBQ delivered to the track when I was out at COTA a few years ago...Franklin would allow the Task Rabbit person to order the amount that we wanted. I'd love to try Franklins, Lockharts, or Salt Lick if you would be kind enough to bring some to the track...your lunch would be on me.

Slow even in the Red group? I only ran a 2:35ish when I was out there last time so I'm not super fast since I don't know the track well yet.

+1 it's clogged.
Still fun working through traffic, just don't expect a bunch of clean laps. Chin and Edge Addicts are better options, but given it won't be a million degrees in November I'll probably go.
I'm in on the brisket especially if we get it for track lunch . Franklins brisket is out of bounds good.

What a great weekend. The weather was just about perfect, the great folks, and of course the delicious BBQ. I probably gained a few pounds so now I'm doing some fasting before Thanksgiving. I was able to put down a good fast lap of 2:28.9 on RE-71Rs with the GT4 (see video below on the fast lap from Sunday). And special thanks to CJ for setting me up with his race shop over in Austin who provided me excellent service to get the car ready for the track and coordinate getting the car to and from the track....I HIGHLY recommend anyone to use their service if they are shipping their car from out of the area to track at COTA.
