Great result guys! I'm sure many 991.1 GT3 owners will sleep better now and we should see more of them on the road and track where they belong!
For those curious, we will continue our work on a solid lash upgrade for the 991.1 GT3. We believe a solid lash is a very effective way to ensure consistent oil film between the finger follower and cam, and we get a bit of performance out of it as well!

Do we have a definition from Porsche of what "this issue" means?
Great job, robmypro, and to all the folks in Atlanta, Porsche included.
Official Announcement from Porsche
"Porsche will extend the warranty on the engine of all 991.1 generation GT3 vehicles in all markets with respect to failure modes related to this issue. The extension will provide coverage for 10 years from the original in-service date, or 120,000 total vehicle miles, whichever occurs first. (The base bumper-to-bumper warranty remains unchanged at 4 years or 50,000 miles for the US, as do all other warranty terms and conditions.) The warranty extension is fully transferable to any future owner. All US owners will be informed in writing and the change will be applied and processed with no additional owner action required. If a vehicle shows the described failure patterns (e.g., misfire at high revs and check engine light) and the inspection in the workshop shows the failure patterns, Porsche will replace the defective engine with a new engine having the latest parts. Porsche confirms that the issue is isolated to the 991.1 GT3, and that the 991.1 GT3 RS and the 991 R are not affected."

After the warranty expires, that's a different story, and rebuilds and upgrades are on the table. But warranty expiration is, fortunately, now very far away.
The warranty is gift and bargain for anyone who intends to track the car heavily. 120K miles is about 1300 hours at track speeds. Where else can you put up to 1300 track hours on an engine, spend nothing on rebuilds during those 1300 hours, and you get a new engine at no cost if it fails during those 1300 hours?

I can't give enough credit to you guys for representing us so well, and to Porsche for offering a really top-shelf solution to this issue. What this makes me believe is that the issue is not that pervasive, and they're willing to bet a pretty big potential downside on it if it is. I'm so happy to hear how well your trip went. I'm sure we all were rooting for you to succeed and you did so it such a big way!! Congratulations on a job well done! Rob, or any of the COG members, any time you're in Vancouver or Victoria, hit me up for dinner.

Gentlemen, a big collective thanks from the Porsche owners community! It took leadership to stop talking above the issue and doing something positive about it. Thanks!
PAG seems to have learned from the IMS fiasco. Companies like this learn their way into a better performance. Who would now hesitate buying any other Porsche product? This action demonstrates the meaning of REALLY standing behind its products.
Not only did Porsche do the right thing but, at least for me, it wildly exceeded expectations.
You pay a premium and you keep in good company.
Hats off to all!
