Check in Here if you have a 991.2 GT3 PTS Order

Between the PTS price hike and Porsche's edict that Touring models aren't eligible for PTS, is it possible Porsche is out of ideas to further winnow the PTS list? It sure sounds like Porsche prefers a smaller order book w/PTS.
I switched to GT3-Touring. Good luck to everyone who've chosen the PTS option.

I was at the dealership finalizing an order on a Miami blue Targa4 GTS when my SA told me they received an email from Porsche that PTS may be available for the touring car by February. I do not know what "may" means and neither did he.
I have previously changed my allocation to touring standard color but it sat in V100 for 5-6 days so I got anxious and changed back to GT3 PTS today. Will see how that goes. I forgot what V status it landed in.
Finally, while there as well, I heard a VIP got his GT3 PTS request denied.

No offense taken, Andre. I just like to have clarity in
this subject matter because I have worked hard over
the years to bring as much light as possible on this
'dark' & 'opaque' world of PTS at Porsche. Thank you
for the 'double down' with the 12 Pinot & Dunham
Cellars Cabernet. Frankly, I am hoping I never win
this bet! And we very much looking forward to your
visit to our home in Scottsdale this winter!
I continue to think it is way past due that PCNA is
frank with their US customers & reveals what they
know about the PTS requests they have made on
behalf of their customers to PAG. It seems incredible
to me, when PAG has apparently every .2 991 gt3
allocated & calculated built dates all the way to Nov
/Dec 2018 in their elaborate just-in-time logistic
system, that PCNA would not be told as of this late
date (Sept 23rd, 2017) of their US PTS slots granted
by PAG within that total allocation. Something is not
right with this picture! PAG knows exactly by now how
many PTS slots they are willing to do for the balance of
.2 991 gt3 production. And it's high time somebody
tells you (those on the request list & suffering in limbo
with V170/180 status) where you all stand!

Oh, good thing I am keeping backups of the list as I revise it! I'll add you back on it!
Regarding the VIP why was he putting his order in so late?

on the gt3 Touring starting in February from a well-
informed Swiss-based Rennlister on this forum. Since
that news about 1 1/2 weeks ago on this forum, a
senior design consultant at 'Exclusive Manufaktur'
in Atlanta confirmed it to one of my sources on his
visit there last week! So it's apparently true!

Yes, it looking good for our Touring PTS fans. at IAA in Frankfurt I had the opportunity to speak to one of the Exclusive Representatives, he was quite sure (but did not confirm) that from Feb onwards PTS will be possible.
Also quite interesting, a couple of the 991 on display with extended leather dashboard had different color for stitching to the rest of the car. In this case black instead of platinum. Looked quite nice! Ordered the same for mine.

a pre approved list/catalog of colors but if you really want you
can also show up with "your own" color and they will determine
if its acceptable or not...
I believe, most if not all, people on this thread have picked a pre-approved color...

He/she did not put the order late, they were just recently notified it's a no.
Don't know the color.
Not really. A VIP was denied to paint his 918 black!! A lot of VIP R owners got their PTS request denied.
Eduardo, do you have any thought on what would be best strategy to increase my (very small) odds of getting a touring in PTS? My build date is in May so my order should not lock before February. Stay in GT3 or sit in touring? If I get denied in GT3, would I have a chance if I move to touring and request it? Obviously I'm asking something that may be impossible to answer.
I agree. They must have a reason or rationale and I suspect they know clients are unhappy. I wonder if that is part of a strategy they believe works?

I keep repeating this 'fact'. Most
911R customers for the US were
in fact 918 VIP's & many were
denied PTS on that 911R model!
I don't think this is PAG corporate
strategy. Most, if not all markets
except the US (meaning Canada,
Europe, Middle East, Australia),
know exactly the PTS slots available
for their .2 991 gt3 allocations & have
already told their customers where
they stand! This is a PCNA snafu,
created I believe by someone in
Atlanta that didn't understand the
consequences of this 'Open Border'
policy, where everyone is allowed
into a PTS Request Room & nobody
gets thrown out or told they can't
get in. Sounds 'inclusive' & 'NICE',
but the reality is that Germany might
not care one bit for PCNA's quirky ways
& still deny most of the PTS requests
because that is how they run that
peculiar PTS ship. Let's just hope
this doesn't turn into a real PR
nightmare for PCNA & their loyal
customers!
Because of the confusing system PCNA
has established for PTS on the .2 991
gt3, I don't trust them to do the 'right'
thing for you even if you pull out of the
'Open Border' PTS v180 waiting room!
Your best bet is to follow closely reports
we get here in Rennlist from European
& Middle East savvy customers as to
what they have been allowed to do to
switch to PTS on the gt3 touring when
that 'PTS window' opens & try to get
PCNA to follow suit. So the key here
is to know early the information as to
what other 'normal' markets are going
to do re: PTS on the gt3 Touring & then
go into action!

Eduardo, do you have any thought on
what would be best strategy to increase
my (very small) odds of getting a touring
in PTS? My build date is in May so my order
should not lock before February. Stay in
GT3 or sit in touring? If I get denied in
GT3, would I have a chance if I move to
touring and request it? Obviously I'm
asking something that may be impossible
to answer.
