Default Temporary roll on paint protection film

Has anyone tried this? Road Warrior. I have a racing yellow GT3 and the rubber marks show up big time and are somewhat difficult to remove. Wondering if anyone here has used this and what your feedback is.

I haven't tried that methd sorry.
OTOH, I recently bought some of this GP Thunder 8 mil, same thickness as Xpel but much easier adhesive release, comparable release to their TracWrap at a fraction of the price

Yes I have used it for track days and works like a charm, I use it to protect my PPF and no issues. Blends into the car very well compared to the Track Armor Tape I was using, comes off easy with water.

Not as thick as Track Armor Tape but does a similar job, very good for protecting the paint, just did 2 days at Sebring and not a single bit of rubber/stones detectable anywhere I placed it.

Front Bumper/Half the Hood/Rear Lower Quarters/Front Lower Fenders/Mirrors and still had a third of a bottle left over.

I would trust XPEL trac wrap the most. Simply because it is made by XPEL. I haven’t used it though.

Thank you for your kind words. TRACWRAP by XPEL is a temporary DIY PPF that can be installed and removed easily.

You can see the different widths and lengths we have available here - XPEL TRACWRAP

And, because we love the PCA so much, we offer a 20% discount by using promo code "PCA" at checkout.

Sorry to say this but unless you have a $20-30 product that can temporarily coat all the areas needed for a solid DE weekend, i don't see anything that works from Xpel.

I think your 6x100 for $30 would be competitive and allot of folks would buy it, or develop a product like the one at the top of thread and sell it cheap. I get allow of track guys asking me about the Track Armor or the roll on product, i point them to the cheapest protection as its a consumable to protect for a weekend.

hsb1001,

We appreciate your feedback. As enthusiasts, we certainly understand the need for temporary cheap consumable protection. What we can say is that TRACWRAP is 8mils thick which is the same thickness as our standard ULTIMATE PLUS and STEALTH films giving you durable protection on track.

Even for $60 the 6x100' would be great, until then I will continue use trackarmour where I can get 12x300' for $145 plus discount and works awesome.

Ive used trackarmour many times and has been awesome,

I’ve been using TrakkTape for years and it’s been excellent. Incredible protection for track days. Saved my paint many times over.

How is it over protection film? I worry about the adhesive as it sounds very tough where both xpel and trackarmour and made to release easily. My biggest concern is removal and thickness, at 5mm it ain't too bad.

Stupid expensive. General Chemical makes something called Paint Shield that costs a lot less. I have used it.

Anyone else use Track Armour? I've read some amazon reviews that show clear coat coming off their car! That would be my only concern.

Almost a year on and I have left on the road warrior for 2 months on top of my Xpel PPF which has ceramic coating, car looks brand new when peeled off. No one wants PPF that is chipped over time as we all hate this.

Don't fall for the trap of expensive ppf on top of your paint or ppf for track use, the Road Warrior does what it says and I have had countless DE weekends with it and incredible protection. My Lava RS looks brand new and I tell people "why would i want to waste thousands on new PPF when this stuff does it all for $40"

My MB RS goes in for all over PPF next week and trust me I will be using Road Warrior relentlessly when done.

Very kool, how's the removal? Can I wait four days? I used the xpel stuff and it was really nice but it's expensive and doesn't look the best given the time required to install flawlessly. How thick is your typical application? Not sure how it compares to traditional track wraps.

Appreciate the details and bump,
