The R was a 991.1

Still seems likely to have one or more numbered limited edition 991.2

I just got a confirmation today by local dealer that RS numbers will be very low indeed. That makes sense that it will be a numbered version...

Sounds very much like the information I got from my dealer...

three years ago, about the 991.1RS...

He ended up selling 5x as many as he originally 'expected'.

991.2GT3 a lot - sign now - get the car Q1/Q2 2018 - at MSRP
news from EU dealers regarding 991.2 GT3 RS:

start production 03/2018 end of production 08/2018

dealers which got 20+ .1GT3RS allocations will get just around 5-7 .2GT3RS allocations.

the short production time is based on Euro6c which says that all new vehicle registrations starting with 01.09.2018 have to have a particle filter. For my technical understanding a particle filter is like a catalyst. there are even existing combined versions... so no ad-blue or other active stuff needed.
But i guess the N/A 4.0 engine as the GT2RS engine do not manage the regulatory limits even with afterwards equipped particle filter. I see this as reason why EU units will stopp within 01.09.2018.

still i think that a limited 991.2 GT3RS "Cup" will follow. but didn´t heard anything from cleaning ladies. i normally guessed the launch together or short before the 992 presentation which would be around Q4/2018? but 992 launch is after the Euro6c deadline on 01.09.2018... mhh....

for the 991.2 GT3RS i guess based on the short production time just around 2000-2500 units ww.
of course the american and ROW units could be built also after 01.09.2018 - which i included in my over all units guess.

guys who signed 1,5 years ago and are number 5+ on big dealers or number 2+ on small dealers where called that it seems they will not get one. so no need to hurry up because today you would be already 2 years late.

Thanks for information you think two gt3 RS models? Normal and a limited ( cup )... the "Windows" seems limited and dont Forget the Gt2 RS is release... Like the 997 series gt2 RS and 4.0 RS limited. I think but its a personal view it release the limited 4.2 or cup edition ( with the weissach pack in march for Geneva.

Perhaps they front end load EU spec car production and shift NA and ROW and build more later in the run. I see no reason why they couldn't produce those cars beyond Sept 1 2018?

+1 I'll bet anyone that they keep building GT3s and .2GT3RSs until after 9/1/18.

They aren't required for gas engines, but some manufacturers (VW, Merc) need to use gasoline particulate filters for high displacement engines to meet euro 6 requirements. They've already released models including particulate filters. GT3RS may actually need it.

fxz pls get your thoughts/infos sorted.

the important info regarding 991.2 GT3 RS is overlapping with this topic: Euro6c: https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...emissions.html

i agree Martin for NA and ROW.
for EU it will be not be possible to register them after 01.Sept.18 without Euro6c.
Trust me I handled already to many registration topics about emission... hopefully Porsche does find a way to make the 4.0 engine Euro6c. And therefore they need a complete other setup / or at least a slightly different setup together with a particle filter for lower nano particles.

GT2RS does also only fullfill Euro6 not Euro6c. This is also the reason why EU cars comes first - than NA and ROW.

And at the GT3RS / .2GT3 in other words the 4.0 engine it is the same currently.

If the 991.2 GT3 RS is a numbered vehicle it will be another 918 owner only special And the flippers delight.

my bet is they will announce it this fall or early spring and it will be a two year production car

so you're saying that a numbered .2 3RS would have a 2 year run, while the non numbered .1 3RS only had a 1 (+) year run?...
common..lol
