I solved this problem. simply start the car let it run a few min until oil pressure gets up. Then shut it off, remove the oil filter and suck the oil out of the housing. it will be about 1/2 liter. I put a new filter and ring on and problem fixed.

I changed my oil about 9 months ago and had since only put 1k miles on it since it was in the garage for almost 6 months.......should I change my oil again?

I'm with you, I kinda just took my carsoft and reset it, only drove about 1500 miles....its a garage queen for me!!!

yet, I'm gonna do a drain and refill, not even changing the filter. thinking of placing that LN engineering magnetic drain plug this time.

You should change it every year just before you put it away for storage. Do not run the car at all if stored for 6 months or so. Be sure to put it on a battery tender for your type of battery.

I just changed my oil today, added 7qts, when i drove it and allowed the temperature gauge to reach its proper level andi checked the oil measurement it was still in the minimum yellow light. Does this mean i need to add more oil? i added about 7qts leaving about 1 qt left. Any help? suggestions?

FYI: Did my first DIY change on 991.1S yesterday. Although i have an extensive set of tools, the largest metric socket i had was a 32mm. Surprisingly, the local Lowes, which now has a large Craftsman section, had a 36mm for around $10.

Thanks for the DIY. Did the oil change today without any hiccups. One observation and a question.
I noticed some oil left in the filter housing. Assuming it’s because I used rhino ramps and the oil was trapped. I took it out by soaking it in paper towel. Don’t think it should have mattered but wanted to share.
Took a quick drive and although the oil level reading says OK the oil level (green) is only highlighted for the firstblock. Should I assume that since it says OK I’m good here and the oil measurement will eventually (next day or so) reflect the accurate level?

Yes but add about 1/4 or less of oil at a time and then check oil gauge so you don't overfill.

Thank you for your suggestion. Filled some more and the oil level increase by 1 block. Will continue adding some more. Almost at 8 liters.

Just take it slow. Once the car is up to temp you can check as you fill. I wouldn't try to fill it to the top within 1 bar is great because it doesn't take much before the overfill light comes on.

I see there's a kit on LN Engineering, but it asks for the size...I still have my old '84 crush washers...yes I purchased a lot back then. And Charles sold me a case of Brad Penn oil...some time ago before the DI40.
I asked the sales guy how do people change the oil, he said by removing the rear bumper, which he said was pretty easy. Then I asked where's the filter, he said I'd have to under the car to get to it....didn't think so! I can't imagine the Porsche Techs doing all the rear bumper removal to change the oil...time is money in the Service dept.
One more question, is the drain plug towards the rear (back of car) of the sump cover or the front of the car?
I'm asking because I see most use the Rhino ramps with the back in the air, which tells me the drain plug must be towards the front?
