High mileage 991 with CPO

40K miles is not high miles. Porsche will certify cars as CPO with up to 124K miles. That says something. It's a very drivable sports car not an Italian classic...

As far as "sports cars" go the 911 is reliable, compared to a Camry or Lexus not close. My 200K mile 20 year old Lexus seat doesn't have slop in it. Gets adjusted 4 times a day which equates to 1200 times a year. On the other side my 20K mile 911 has a little slop when starting and stopping. Porsche CPO is determining if normal wear and tear, lol! There are some other early "wear" items but high mileage will have more wear than low mileage and there are many components to a car then just the engine and transmission.......

^ even though I looked at and drove a Porsche Macan and BMW X3, I chose an Acura RDX because I tend to keep my cars for a long time, longest so far is 14 years and that car is now in the hands of a Porsche 997 owner at 23 years and that engine and transmission has never been opened, not the usual 3 year trade-ins. That car has over 200,000 miles on it. Of course I looked after it and it never saw a dealer or shop.

This was my first 911 and i already had a Cayenne. I have a base Cayenne Platinum edition and i love that truck so much i decided im only buying porsches from now on. My plan is to keep the cayenne forever as my winter truck and keep getting better 911's. I had no idea when purchasing the Cayenne that its as reliable as a Lexus. I came from BMW and Mercedes world where these cars would break all the time, and i had heard the same thing about Porsche and that they were even more expensive to run. I found out later that its mainly the Turbo, and older cars. Just my 2 cents.
I also have had two MBZs and still have one my wife drives. Plus I had a couple of very nice BMW's over the years including a '97 840CI and a Dinan tuned 740i M-sport but frankly the build quality and reliability of the Porsches are miles ahead of the others. Moving forward, as long as I can afford it, I'll stay with Porsche. The Mercedes are very well built and quite reliable, the Bimmers were notorious for lousy, radiators / expansion tanks and window regulators. I kept my 740 for almost 20 years and 300K miles but must have replaced the radiator and expansion tanks every 50 K and the every window regulator multiple times. Good performance but certainly more quality issues.
