Will adaptive sport seats from a 997.2 fit in a 987?
Wondering if adaptive sports seats from a 997.2 will fit in a 987 (2006 Cayman S)
Will the rails line right up and drop in?
Will the wiring be plug and play or is some modification needed?
Thanks for any help.

They will bolt right in. That much I know.
As for the power functions. I'm fairly certain that the adaptive functions will work with the existing harness. But the memory functions won't work unless the 987 has power comfort seats.

The 987 doesn't have the Memory function (neither did the GT3 that the seats came out of).
Both had the heated seat function so I assume that was the only thing that mattered because the rest should just be "powered" functions...

unless the GT3 sport seats are unlike the other 997 and 987 sport seats, if they're adaptive then the car had memory.
With the adaptive sport seats, you get power adjustable bolsters, power lumbar, power height, etc. Standard sport seats have a manual slider & height with electric backrest. Of course, both can be had with heat.
Regardless, both adaptive and standard sport seats will bolt into a 987.

I did this exact mod. My seats were removed from a 2010 GT3RS. Full whammy/power/heated everything. They bolted into my 2005 Boxster base and it all works as if it came from the factory like this. The dealer had to tell my car not to trigger the passenger side weight warning or some such thing.

Most dealers are at least $100 bones anytime they hook up the piwis gizmo. I'd imagine yours would be around there. Maybe yours will be "friendly" if you group it in with an oil change service or some other thing. It will take the technician an extra 5 minutes at the most.
