Trying to help out a friend that has a 2007 Cayman S Auto. He has consistently let his battery voltage run low. I have told him to keep a trickle charger on the car but he keeps forgetting. On Monday he called from a nearby parking lot because the Cayman would not start. I went over an jumped his car. It started an he drove it home. Now there is a CEL U0100 Lost Communication With ECM/PCMA. I understand it could be caused by low battery voltage. Will it go away if he gets a new battery?
Thanks in Advance

With no answers in 5 days, I'll give you a guess based on other cars. He will probably have to drive the car a certain number of miles. Maybe 50, maybe 200, and maybe at a certain mph for a certain number of miles. I have personally seen all of the above on personal cars.
