Default Spyder Seat Swap LWBs for Sofas

So I found a Spyder that may work for me, but it has LWBs, which I don't think I can live with. Which leads me to the age old question - is it possible, and how easy would it be, to swap with someone for their 18 ways? Also, are the GT4 seats identical to the Spyder, such that they could be swapped with a GT4?

You should have no problem finding someone. To answer your question... Yes the GT4 and Spyder and even the GT3/RS LWB's are the same. Only difference is the Headrest embroideries and thread color. The Spyder silver thread color is different that the GT's. The red and yellow stitching is the same IIRC.

Without memory function, you wouldn't be missing anything with the swap. I know the GT4 doesn't have it, but not sure about the Spyder. The last consideration is airbag and connector, but hopefully they're compatible, and just a bolt-on affair. I'd ask a dealer before considering that option. Since the LWBs are more expensive, maybe you can get your labor included in the deal. Good luck.

Just a heads up on the LWBS in the 981 Spyder. This newer version is slightly wider and easier to get into than the last 987.2. They're not as narrow, at least that's how they feel to me.

Have to had a chance yet to try them out?

I've sat in them for a while in a 991.1 RS and they did not fit me very well in the back area. I could probably tolerate them in a more hard core GT car, but don't think I'd like them in a street/weekend car like this. And I'm fairly certain my wife would hate them.

Can't imagine you wouldn't have a waiting list of people willing to swap seats...
