Do you guys use a battery tender?

I've used the CTEK chargers during storage periods (winter) of up to 3 months with no issues. My understanding is that the recommendation is not just to start the car for a few minutes, turn off, then reconnect to charger, since condensation can cause engine damage. Once started, the car should be run up to normal operating temperature and driven prior to reconnecting to the charger.

Adding on to a long thread here, but as an FYI.
I have a 2014 981 BS.
The passenger foot well 12V Socket does NOT stay active on my vehicle.
I connected a maintainer to the battery + and - post in the frunk. Did not go right to the battery -.terminal.

I have a Battery Tender Jr that I hook my Spyder up to when I know I won't be driving it for multiple days at a time, added the pigtail to the battery terminals so it's as easy as popping the frunk and hooking up the connectors.

Are you sure? I have the same vehicle and plugging into the foot well socket works fine. You have to turn the key on first, then plug in the charger (there's a timeout that is a couple of minutes). Do you use a smart charger?

I have a Cayenne 2006 and got a battery tender junior and first tried the points under the hood and it did not work. The tender junior had a flashing red light. I asked the dealership and they told me that only the cigarette lighter connection works. Then I bought a cigarette lighter connector and when I connected it the red light in the connector lights up but the battery tender junior has a solid red light. I let it be for about 5 minutes or so and nothing changed. I kept the passenger side windows down and after a while the hazard warnings light flashing. I even looked the door and it happened again.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Is the Tender Junior too small?

Thank you very much Matt. I am going to try again tomorrow morning as somehow the hazard lights were flashing too at one stage. I had the window open to get the cable out and then locked the door. So I do not want to try again in the night just in case.
By the way I have the same model tender junior connected to my motorcycle and it has a flashing green for some time and then goes solid green.

I have a Noco G7200 (supportsAGM and lithium ion). I have it hardwired to my battery and routed the adapter through the plastic cover in the frunk. Makes it super easy to disconnect and re-connect.

I just got a Genius 1100 with the cigarette lighter adapter and now hoping that it will work. When I connected and put the setting to cold and AGM the 25% red flashed and immediately went solid red and the 50% red kept flashing even after 15 minutes. I am hoping that this time it will work.

Just ordered my second tender, a Stanley BC209 from Walmart because it includes a cigarette lighter adapter. Also available from Amazon, but it appears to have been coded as a battery requiring special shipping. A tender is worth the peace of mind not to do a "frunk jump".

Update. The Genuis 1100 seems to work as all the lights were according to the manual with a flashing green and all other lights were out. But when I started the engine, it shuddered to start and sounded like some cylinders were struggling. The check engine light kept flashing until I revved it up a few times and it went off and then the engine sounded normal.
So it may not be a battery issue I feel. I really do not know why this is happening.
