Default Spyder Seat Question

I sold my 981 Spyder last year and I'm thinking about buying a used one and I have a question about seats. My Spyder had the 18 ways, which I liked, but some of the cars I'm looking at appear to have fully manual 2 way seats, which I'm not familiar with. Are they shaped similar to the 18 ways, like the 4 way sports seats in the 991?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Pretty sure the 2-ways and 18-ways are identical seats but for the adjustments. Here's a screenshot from page 24 of the Spyder hardcopy brochure/catalog showing L-R the 18-ways, the 2-ways and the LWBs, which appears to bear this out.

People I know with the 2-ways love them and I wouldn't hesitate to have them.

Great to hear you may be back in a Spyder soon.

Glad to hear indeed! What options are you looking to get?

At this point, I'm just looking, but given the limited supply, I wouldn't be able to be very choosy. I'm trying to find out if there are any super low mileage cars (sub 2k miles), preferably silver with black interior. Found one I kinda like and have inquired, but haven't heard back yet whether it's still for sale.

Good news about your possible purchase! I inquired about your Spyder last year, but it was already sold. I think you mentioned that you were having knee issues? I ultimately bought one from John Wright at PNH (great guy, by the way), and I think it is one of the best Porsches ever made.

i have manual Sport seats on my 987.2 - they're excellent.
The backrest angle adjustment is electrical.
Distance and height are manual.

I have the 2 way seat in my spyder and they are identical to the 4 way seats I had in my 991.1 GT3
I never need to adjust them

"Almost" welcome back to Spyder Club, Archimedes. Would you mind sharing what made you to reconsider? Did you drive other cars which didn't quite meet the expectations like your Spyder did? I feel that a Spyder is the best car (or, near-perfect) for the streets, at any price point. It just hits a sweet-spot.

As for the seats, I have 2-way Sport Plus. Love them. Good compromise between light buckets and heavy 18-way. Offer good support and look pretty decent. I prefer manual controls as much as possible.

I have the 4 way SS Plus in my 991 c2s and I love them, so as long as the shape is the same on these, I'm sure I'll like them.

I knew at the time that I shouldn't sell my Spyder (health issues were weighing on me though) and I actually backed out of the sale then succumbed to pressure by a pissed buyer. I'm still leery of the manual with my back/hip/leg issues, but the Spyder is one of the few cars that really still interests me in a sea of blandness out there. If I could find something nearly exactly what I want at a reasonable price, I'd probably take a chance and rebuy one, but I think it's a real long shot, as I'm only interested in a super low mile car, and only in certain color combinations. And I'm not willing to pay a premium over sticker. So, it's a long shot. I'm just going to keep my eyes out in case something pops up. There was one out there that was pretty dead on, but the dealer took a deposit on it this past weekend.

I'm looking to add one as well. This listing shows 15 for sale in the US most are over MSRP. There's a couple on here looking at ....good luck.

Yeah, I've been scanning the ads for a while. The only one that really piqued my interest sold this past weekend, but even that one needed a price reduction to really get me interested. I paid under sticker for my Spyder brand new, so there's no way I'm paying over sticker for a used one with a year gone on the warranty. If that's the market, I'll continue to be Spyderless.

Wait, is this THE Archimides who gave me a ton of s**t back in the 991 forum for calling out an SA trying to shove a PDK down my throat? Now talking about a sea of blandness with your 991 PDK? GTFO homey. Scoot on back to bland 991 PDKland! This forum here's for folks who knows how to drive.

Agree .......make due with my RS. I think 15% off MSRP is a good starting point.

Stalker much? My bland comment had nothing to do with PDK, as I love my PDK C2S and have no intention of every selling it.
