Am I going to regret selling one of my spyders to buy a new GT3.

Anyone here make a similar move and regret it ?

Not if I had a 2nd Spyder... I'm all about vehicular diversity and different driving experiences.

I have one spyder and a GT3RS
and I was thinking about trading in spyder for a manual GT3
though I don't think it is a good idea as I love the spyder and GT3 will be very close in driving experience to RS

Unless you plan to track the GT3 there is little point. The Targa makes more sense for Road enjoyment.

I always wonder about this. GT3 is the only 911 I care about. Being a Porschephile, it is on my list. It is the only car I would "compromise" my rule of no-fixed-roof. However, if it isn't tracked, is it too much for the street? Is it not fun at street-legal speeds? With 500 HP and super high limits, could it be overwhelming, for the street driving?

I had a 991 GT3 and traded it for a GT4.
For me, the GT4 is more fun on both the street & track. GT3 is faster of course, but it's so easy to go fast.

As long as you have 2 Spyders, why not? The trade will not be a money losing proposition for sure.

Had a GT3 and sold it in favor of the Spyder. Track focused cars are too frustrating on the street. I found it also rather boring at normal speeds. The manual GT3 is tempting but not if I would have to get rid of the Spyder.

I don't understand how you could come to regret this. I mean... you have two, right? So you'll still have one. What would you miss about the 2nd one that you don't get from the one you're keeping?

Wish I had to regret about taking such a decision... LOL

Gt3 is one of my favourite cars!

I like GT3 911's too. However unless I was going to track one or had a "brass pass" I don't see it as anything but a little prettier, much faster way to go to jail.

I will only do it if I can get a manual made to my specs. I will keep the thread updated on my progress.

Just out our curiosity, what specs do you have in mind?

My GT3 specs:

http://www.porsche-code.com/PJK1FP63

Basically, GT Silver w/Blk/Red LWBs and MT.

Way above my pay grade and WAY above my driving ability, but since when has that ever stood in the way?

I would not sell a Spyder for the 991 GT3.
But for a 997 GT3. The 997 is much purer car and more rewarding/engaging at slower speeds than the 991.
987 Spyder + 997 GT3 perfect combo imho.
