I've done some searches on X73 retrofits and found a few posts where the 981 Spyder version of X73 has a more refined damping behavior compared to the 981 Boxster/Cayman version of X73.

Has anyone done a retrofit of the Spyder version of X73 into a Boxster?

My Boxster S has standard suspension, thinking about X73 retrofit.

I upgraded my 2014 Cayman to X73 and found it to be very similar in feel to my 2016 Boxster Spyder. I'd be surprised if the suspension components have different part numbers, but always willing to be educated. It's possible that the similar dampening on the Cayman was a function of its smaller diameter taller tires.

I did track the Cayman for several years with the base suspension, which is certainly worthy enough for most purposes.

I believe the x73 is the same for both, the difference is the sway bar in the Spyder is a little thicker or different.

Thanks for the posts. I'm leaning towards doing the X73 retrofit, I like the lowered look, and will be nice to have for auto-X and occasional track day.

I've considered this option as well. I find the base 981 suspension is great in the city (90% of my driving) but noticed it's lack of stiffness and allowin body roll when I pushed it the other night up some local twisty roads. The Guards Red Spyder in front me handled them much better. So it looks to be a worthwhile option, I just don't want to make my daily drive too rough!

I've decided to have X73 installed, have appointment at my favorite Porsche dealer next week. Will have a track alignment done, -1.5F/-2.0R, brake fluid flushed with Endless RF-650. Bought some dedicated wheels/tires for Auto-X and DE events, have my first DE set for 20 May and will try an Auto-X within the next 2 months somewhere around DFW. Wheels are 19" OZ Leggera with RE71R in 235/40 F and 265/40 R.

Will take and post some before/after pics of the car before/after X73.

I added the X73 rear sway bar to my base car with base suspension. I definitely felt the difference in the city. Unfortunately, my wife asked "Why do you always make the cars ride rough?" So far I'm keeping it, but even the RSB alone affects the ride.

Where did you purchase the X73? Suncoast? Also, how many hours of labor for install?

Suncoast for X73 kit. Don't know how many hours but labor for the install was $1,140. Track alignment was $200 more. Also had OEM brake fluid flushed with Endless 650, and rhat cost another $205. Took 2.5 days for all work. Everything done at my favorite Porsche dealer.

I did the X73 on my '14 Cayman S and was very, very happy with the results. Worth every penny IMO. That said, the X73 in my Spyder offered a better ride quality that the CS that had to be more than just a different sway bar. Porsche has definitely improved the damping in the X73 that went into the Spyder. That car rode much nicer than either my CS or my SPASM/PDCC C2S. Still, I loved the X73 in the CS.

I love it. I've put 400 miles on it during a drive to Austin and Padre Island from DFW. My significant other likes it too. She said "it feels firmer but not uncomfortable". The ride quality is not harsh and not annoying to me at all. Compared to stock wheels/tires on stock suspension, when I put the OZ Leggera wheels and RE71R tires on I found the ride to be noticeably less abrupt or harsh, but was a minor change. Not sure how that could be other than the wider track of the wheels having some effect? Same tire pressure on same tire sizes. Then i put the X73 on. The X73 is a super upgrade, I'm 110% happy with the decision. The car sits in a much more aggressive stance also, looks much better.

Update: Finished the trip to Padre Island and back to DFW, 1,100+ miles round trip. Love the X73. If you drive more than 25% of your driving on real s****y roads, you might find yourself wanting to take your Lexus 460 or BMW X5 instead. But if you love sports cars with well balanced ride comfort and superb handling, you won't ever regret X73.
