That was my hunch too, old car on top level leaking fuel. You might inspect the car more closely, especially the top to make sure none of the fuel leaked on it. I don't think the gas would hurt the paint/body but it could damage the cloth top. Just out of curiosity which carrier was it? Some use plastic covers to avoid damage from leaking cars.

SEMA. I sure didn't see any sign of gas on the car. It was spotless. That's a good question about a plastic cover. I'll call the driver tomorrow. By the time I came down from my office he had it unloaded and parked, would have removed the cover already.

The car is great to drive, even keeping it under 4500 rpm. Still trying to air it out but it seems to be getting better. I put a couple boxes of baking soda in the footwell as well.
It's a work of art. Draws much more attention than the GT4 did.
