987 Spyder interior cover
I've been looking for something I could quickly throw on the car to protect the interior from dirt, UV, birds when I'm only parking for a short time; beach, restaurant, etc. I've got the top up/down to about 3 minutes, but was looking for a simpler, quicker, temporary solution.
I picked up an "interior cover" from Covercraft for about $80. It's lightweight and collapses into a small ball that can be stored behind the seat for quick access. It's not as easy a throw-on as I had hoped with lots of Velcro straps, but it is a quick alternative to the factory top.
YMMV,
Why do my pictures show up upside down, and how can I correct them?

Yes nice post. Most of the 987 spyder owners have one I believe. Mine came with a black one but if I were to buy one it would have to be your color to keep the heat out.

Nice and agree with w00tPORSCHE on the colour.
Turning pictures upside down? Needs to be done before post them. Try that.
I think this is the link: http://www.covercraft.com/us/en/prod...OLORID=PR|CCHP

Looks like the SKU is: IC2029PG
As far as posting pics, they're all "right reading" in my library when I post them. Any other suggestions?

Dave, nice pick up.
As previously reported, I've been looking for an interior cover for the 981 Spyder to no avail. It was suggested a group buy might spark interest in a manufacturer to get off their duff and make one for the new Spyder, but because we don't have the red latches you 987 guys have in the rear lid which serve as a convenient velcro secure point for the rear of the cover, designing one for the 981 may prove problematic.
I've used the heck out of these covers for other convertibles I've owned and I think they're great.

Ok I must be one of the few that doesn't have this yet. But before I buy one I do have a few questions:
1. What does the underside look/feel like? Is it soft? My roll hoops are covered in leather and I'm wondering if it will scuff them.
2. Does the underside create any dust or lint?
I'm thinking of using this only in the garage to be honest, it would reduce the wear and tear on the known weak point where the red hooks are located (more on that later).

The material I chose is very lightweight, kind of like a windbreaker or parachute material as a reference. However, you can order the cover in any of the standard car cover materials. It's all personal preference.
No idea about the lint/dust creation, Afshin. My intended use is short-term outside use, so since the top is down anyway the dust is a given.
Looking forward to your comments on the "weak point, red hooks".

^^^^ If you find one, let me know! Nobody I know makes one and I suspect, as indicated above, it may be tough to design one for the 981. That, and the low number of cars produced, may deter the usual players (i.e., Covercraft, Empire, et al.) from offering one. Hope I'm wrong.

Why do you 981 guys think you need an interior cover? You park, hold down a button and your top is up - unlike us 987 guys who park and have to walk from side to side to dissemble the top and then store it.
Surely I'm missing something here since several 981 owners are chiming in here - what is it?

The 981 roof is manual and can't be raised and lowered from inside the car. The very final stage of closing does involve pressing a button on the center console which engages a center latch, but otherwise we have to get out and walk around the car just like you guys, although the number of steps involved for us is less.
I'd like an interior cover for all the reasons you mentioned. Sometimes you just want to protect the interior from God-knows-what while the car is parked somewhere short-term and you don't feel like going through the machinations of raising the roof and then lowering it again when you come back out and drive off.
