My first thought is that this is a bit high priced. Part of that is actually a negative reaction to the lack of some "required" (to me) options, particularly HID's, and in general the lack of most options. My sense is that there are a lot of used Porsche's with a variety of nice additions that I might not have ordered new, but generally come nearly free with a used model. For me, the PDK is a negative rather than a positive value, but if you want PDK, it does cost thousands on the original sticker and should be a plus in your view of values here. It would be nice to see something more than the base sound system, maybe PCM and or Nav, etc. but this one does have the required (in Boston) heated seats at least, and optional 18's. 71k miles is generally a pretty average for a 2010 car, but not in Porsche circles. Here, that is pretty far above the average for a 2010 as far as I can tell, and miles are very expensive in these cars. My personal pricing model is to adjust price between $2 and $3k for each 10,000 mile block above around 30k miles in this age bracket, and that works for me but may not work for you. I use 30k as teh base, as that seems to be a very common total mileage for the age, and is thus the basis for my general impression of an average price as I browse ads. As for thte total miles in general, I certainly hope that that is not anywhere the end of the car's really dependable life, particularly being a 987.2, so a high mile purchase for a nicely reduced price might actually be a good value long term.

Still for sale! Thinking it's a good deal at maybe 20K?

This car did not MSRP for 70 large and it will not do 0-60 in under 5 secs.

"Mid-mounted Rear Engine"? What the hell is that?

And I'm fairly certain the "Cinnamon leather interior" is Sand Beige and fake leather.

This is my essentially my car the best I can tell and my MSRP was 56 grand. This one tops at 60 grand at most.

Append its VIN to this URL and you'll get the build deets and the MSRP.

https://admin.porschedealer.com/repo...print.php?vin=

With all that said, if the car has a good maint. history and rust free, I think 20-21 grand is good price. The mileage is not a huge concern on the 987.2's if it checks out. I have seen a couple like models with 150k plus.

Good luck,

Eddie

Perhaps a bit high for a base model, but not bad, especially if it has a full-leather interior. Negotiate down to $23k or less.

you can use vindecoderz.com to see what options it came with. Sticker price looks like it was $61,980.00. There's other inaccuracies amongst that ad that give rise to concern.

I don't know what your local market is like but that Cayman is priced at least $2-4k less than ones here. 987.2 are also fairly rare and desirable. No IMS fear and the PDK is much preferred if someone wants an automatic. Also the price point makes it attainable for most people so chances are someone will ****** that up even if the car isn't quite worth that price. If you can get it for $22k then it's a nice deal if the PPI checks out. From my experience though you'll have a bit of competition as there's a lot of people who just want a Porsche and don't do their due diligence when shopping.

Numeric makes cables that have metal ends instead of the plastic that Porsche supplied. Makes for a more robust cable and a more direct feel.

My "Huh?" was posted as this thread is discussing a car with PDK and dang if I'm smart enough to figure out your reference to Numeric cables.

Weird, that was a glitch on my iPad. I meant to post on a thread related to replacing cables and somehow posted on this one.
