Default 987.1 Climate Control Unit to 987.2

Hi everyone, this is my first post, but I've been lurking around since 2014.

I was wondering if anyone with a 987.1 has swap their climate control unit with a 987.2 unit? If so, is it a simple plug-n-play or will there be some modifications required?

Or will it not work at all?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry to revive an old post but have not been able to find any information on conversion.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

This is basically impossible to do. Try a search on one of the other forums (6speedonline, maybe?) as it has been discussed there.

Basically, you have to use the HVAC module from a 2009 997 Turbo only. IIRC, you also have to have the system coded and perhaps even wire in a diode/resistor along the way. The issue is the difference in the PCM version between the models and the way it controls the internals.

I had considered this on my 05 997, but proved too difficult/expensive to have done.
