What specific advice are you asking for? Price? Options?

2010 is the 987.2 and generally have been reliable. It has the improved motor 9A1 (base Boxster is not DFI). Also the auto trans is PDK which is a step up from the prior tiptronic. That said it is out of warranty so I would want a PPI. Also the normal due diligence checks including Carfax check. Price looks in the ball park. You can also check the sites like Edmunds, KBB for used car valuations. Good luck, hope it works out.

Thanks, it's this one or this other one I found that seems to be a good price on an S but the VIN seems off.

Not sure what you mean by the VIN being off. Help us help you by explaining what you mean and what you are asking about.....
The first one is priced a bit high. The second one, an S, seems in the ballpark and has several nice options.
Maintenance records and overall condition are the two most important things to consider on 987.2s at this point in time. Make sure all maintenance is up to date or negotiate the required cost into the price you're willing to pay.

Look closely and the 2012 is a Base not an S despite the big S on trunk. black dials, 175 top speed, grey calipers. Then the actual specs are clearly base. the seller is not claiming it is an S though, so not intended to be misleading probably. Both Base, both same money, but 2010 is lower miles, 2012 more extras. Basically, the 2010 and 2012 are duplicate cars with very little changes betrween those years, and I think market pricing does tent to be similar, with newer being a bit higher but not by as much as you might usually expect.

I suspect there will be even more of these on the market come the winter.
