Default Red Spyder mistaken for Ferrari

I pulled up in a parking lot and a young man runs out of a shop to see the "Ferrari" LOL.

Ha! I get questions all the time about the make. "What IS that?" Now I can tell people it's a Ferrari Porsche Spyder. Limited edition.
Also been asked by a few "Does it have a 4 cylinder?" Lolol.

Somebody thought mine was a 918... a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!

Actually, when I had my Elise, nobody had any idea what it was, but it sure attracted the cell phone pictures... kind of a pain in traffic!

Elise is a tough one. I've heard people asking if it was a kit car.

Not an issue mistaking the 718 as a P O R S C H E, since the logo on the rear would fit nicely on a billboard on Interstate 95.

Tell them yes and see if they'll offer you $750K for it. It is "pre-owned" after all.

I have kids waving all the time and giving me thumbs up, I have 'the ladies' doing double takes when I drive with the roof down whether they are driving or they are in their boyfriend's car on the passenger side etc. I even had a couple of guys nearly get in to a wreck because they were too busy looking at my car than paying attention to a car in front of them slowing down for a red light.

I've been twice asked whether my lowly '06 Cayman (Guards Red) is a Ferrari. I think the red helps with that illusion/confusion, but the exotic shape also contributes.

I did not buy this car for attention, but it is almost bizarre how many compliments it gets. A short 2 mile drive through town and I'll get multiple "nice car" at the light or at pedestrian intersections... When it's parked outside my house I'll hear tourists in the street and look it with entire families taking pictures.. And yes, a few people ask me about the electric motor which is funny to even mistake this for a 918.. Entertaining I suppose, but surprising. After all, it's just a boxster

First, I get comments all the time, even as I'm driving through intersections -- Funniest comment was "is that one of those VW kit cars?"

OMG, did you just stop the car, get out, walk over slowly and slap him with your gloves?

I literally started laughing at the guy, but your scenario would have been more fun. I wish my SA had thrown in some gloves like he promised!
