Default Need 718 pricing help

Hello my Boxster brethren,

I have a friend that is negotiating a 2017 718 Boxster S, sticker 88K and change. What type of discount is available in the market at this time.

Would like to know tonight if possible,

Thanks
Keith

Probably matters what part of the country you are in. I was offered 5% without pushing in Southern California usually considered a tight market. This was on an allocation I could configure to my liking.

Porsche usually doesn't budge on new models, so that's a sign of the soft reception the 718 is getting. And it's understandable: It was castrated of 2 cylinders, and a very nice sound (now mediocre). But the only way to judge that is by calling several dealers (including outside your area) and find out what the market is. Good luck.

I concur with all of the above.

Let us know what your friend decided.

Ya know... I've had a 964, 993, 996, 997 and 991. With every successive generation, the sound got more muted and less exciting.

Now I have the Boxster (981) without PSE, and the sound is just amazing. I love it. This car replaced a 4-cylinder Z4 and really the only thing wrong with that car was the engine. I hate four cylinders unless they're in a motorcycle.
