I watched enough to realize Porsche has apparently rued ever building anything with more than 4 cylinders, but didn't last long and didn't get anywhere near the end.
Geez, just admit the Feds won't let you build cars people want and you're doing the best you can with handcuffs on.

Three Wheelin'
I'm sure there were numerous meetings trying to decide how to spin the desirability of a 4 cylinder car which had always been a 6. The decision appears to have been made to tie it to an historic 4 cylinder Porsche race car.
I think that would have worked if the 718 were an all new model but it isn't and many of their prospective buyers like myself have 6 cylinder models in our garages. Will be interesting to see if Porsche marketing can pull off a success without sizable price incentives.
