Ok
Right now I dd a CGTS and have a 981 Spyder for weekend duty.
I was thinking adding a third car to the arsenal with extra seats
that I could use when taking more than one person with me.
Besides the extra seating space, the only requisites for me are:
the car must be fun and have three pedals.
So far, this is my lists of finalists:
Mustang GT350
BMW M2
Mini Cooper Works
GTI/ Golf R
Anyone feel free to add any ideas.

I have both a Macan GTS and a 2010 Golf. Personally in the city I love driving the Golf. This one has a nice GTI package with a beautiful leather steering wheel and e-brake handle, cloth Recaro seats and some GTI suspension bits in it. I really dig this car and I don't worry too much about the inevitable scrapes and dings one picks up in a city. I would check out the Golf R. I can't see where you are from but the Golf R is AWD and an excellent all weather car.

If you're considering a new Mini I would take that off the list. I test drove the latest Mini a couple of years ago and was completely disappointed with the driving experience. The shifting was rubbery as they get, the steering was completely numb and the chassis felt just as numb. I'm not sure a mustang would be ideal for any adult passengers, a child maybe. The Golf seems like a good choice and I'm sure the M2 would be good and will likely hold its value since it sounds like it's one of the few that actually feels like a drivers car.

I vote for Golf R. They have perfected this platform and it comes with a proper 6MT if you want one. Just had a friend buy a beautiful white one. I still have my 2004 R32 and and will never sell it. Too much fun.

Golf R seems like a good choice. So does, Focus RS. However, Mustang GT350 (R or not) is what I would consider. The engine and the sound alone worth the price. NA V8 is salivating! Engines like that aren't gonna be around for long. I am a hardcore open-top guy; just can't find a use for a coupe (except Minnesota winter and rainy days). I want that V8 so bad, it just hurts!!

Have no idea how the GT350's steering and shifter feels are. The car seems to handle well, according to a couple of reviews I read. I have very limited exposure to domestic cars. There is a long thread in 991 GT3 forum (stopped reading after a while). You got to check out GT350!

I test drove a GTI a few years ago and was very impressed by it. I probably would have bought it, but the seats hurt my back, and no adjustment would make it work for me. I've been spoiled by Porsche and BMW seats I guess.

Speaking of BMW and the M2, reviews are very positive on that car. I would also suggest the M3/M4, both of which will have a smidgen more room in the back seats and trunk.

If you're looking at hot hatches, toss the Focus RS in for something completely different!

I have a Golf R that I drive rarely, as my son drives it most of the time, we both love it . I think it is much better than regular GTI
Audi S4 B 8.5 that supercharged engine is great and it feels like a small V8 . very nice interior and feels special.
GT 350 is on my list to buy so i'll second that
I'll skip focus RS. Saw one in person, not really impressed with the looks or interior. If you want that kind of car, probably better off with an established car like an STI

+1 Focus RS, except they are going for way over sticker price right now. I saw one on autotrader going for $20k over. That is bonkers for a car that is $40k. For that money, get the S3.

With my own money, I'd buy a 2011 BMW 1M. Very hard to find. Only 740 units in the country. The car basically never depreciated. Rear drive, good power, fun to drive.

Ever think about a 4 door wrangler? It is a completely different kind of fun, but still very fun. You already have 2 excellent sports cars, why get another one? (yes I know that is a really dumb question to ask).

Perhaps this is obvious but why not stay in the P-car family and get a 911? 997.2 would go nicely with your current more modern cars.

I just picked up a 13' Mini GP2. Pricing right now is compelling. Might see some track duty vs. subjecting my 1M to it. No back seat though...

If you're getting a car to carry some passengers, why not something that actually has some space?

I'm thinking something along the lines of an M3 sedan or M5 (either current generation or previous one, depending on your pref for NA vs turbo), which are both available with a 3rd pedal. Chevy SS (V8 w/ M/T). If budget matters, then a GTI is definitely a great choice (or 2008-2010 M3 sedan if you're willing to go with a slightly older car.)
