I've considered changing mine up also, is your supplier giving you a nice thick cloth? ... if you like the quality can you share the name?

The suppliers are:

http://www.lakewell.com/en/general/fabrics

The Pepita aka houndstooth from ClassicFX in the UK http://classiccarrestorationsurrey.c...egory/fabrics/

I believe you had ordered your houndstooth from Classic FX also ? The Pascha is thicker ... if you PM your details I can send you samples of all the fabrics...the other important element is that the density of the foam needs to be at least as dense/supportive as the the original inserts

I never removed the inserts, just unvelcroed the original alcantara covers and velcroed the new ones onto the original al Porsche inserts.

Yea the fabric from classicFX in England is acceptable but slightly thin IMO. The lakewell you find is better?

Great inspiration here! I'm committed to doing my seats in Pepita (to match my 911 50th) but I don't have the LWB in my Spyder - I have the "sport" seats. It doesn't appear that the cushions easily pop out, so I'll probably have to take the seats out of the car and take them to my local upholstery guy.

Has any one done any upholstery work on the sport seats, or have any tips on taking them out of the car (beyond disconnecting the battery so I don't get a surprise as I remove them?).

I don't know which one I love the most, it may be pepita but pascha and tartan are awesome too.

Kudos for trying all of these

Only1buck - thanks for posting the information; I've been thinking about doing something similar with the Lakewell tartan. Does your interior guy have a template for the foam cushions? I'd love to just have the material shipped to him. How much material do you need to order for the entire set of cushion covers?

I created a quick photoshop image and quite like the look - the red in the tartan connects the carrera red leather.

@Nurburger I can ask him about the template, as he may have created one from the sets he made for me, as mine was the first set he had done for those style seats. I got carried away, but given how easy it is to switch the inserts in and out I figured why not...his shop is closed now for the weekend, but I will drop him a line and let you know. With regards to the amount to order let me go back and look at my emails to see how much I ordered...I checked emails and it was a quantity of 4 in other emails there was a reference to 4 m, assuming that meant 4 meters, but not positive...go with a quantity of 4 and you will be fine.

Wow that looks cool, any ideas what the name of this cloth is? It looks like an oversized pepita but hard to say for sure.

^ This is woven leather by Spinnybeck... If you order a Singer, one of the options is custom leather patterns.
