New SPYDER Break-in QUESTIONS
I'm picking up my new SPYDER in the next few weeks and would like to go on a road trip soon after. Should I wait until I've reached the 2,000 mile breakin before doing this?

Not sure why a Spyder is relevant to your break in question.
This is an age old debate that applies to even a Honda Civic.....
Some people follow break in procedures, some people beat the crap out of the car on the first day. It really doesn't matter at the end of day, as I'm sure you'll sell the car well before any tangible difference will be noticed.

So true. OP, make sure the car (oil temp) is always fully warmed up before you romp on it and make sure you're fully comfortable with the car and it's handling before you really drive it hard. Just be smart about. As others have said vary RPMs a lot when new and I wouldn't be bouncing it off the rev limiter a lot for the first couple thousand miles, but other than that, just drive it normally. However, I wouldn't take a brand new car on a long freeway cruise at a droning 2k rpm in 7th for hundreds of miles. That's probably the only thing I wouldn't do during break in. Mix it up, even if cruising on the freeway.
