I really like the painted lower rocker! In fact I wonder why Porsche never considered painting the rocker black along the crease down the side of the car, it really helps create a more proportional look and it follows the bumpers trim piece line.

Fantastic. Where about's in Aus are you? The next time I'm down from Canada I'm looking for someone to go driving on Old Northern Road down to Wisemans Ferry in NSW.

I like the black sills. Spyder is a beautiful car but one minor whinge is it's very slightly slab-sided. This helps tighten the line. Goes well with the stripes too. Prefer standard air intakes to GT4s though.

Thanks. Totally agree. First time I saw a Spyder it just grabbed me as the ultimate completion of the 981 Boxster design but while they went full GT aero on the front n rear bumpers, the side sills look very slabby and unfinished like the budget just stopped

yep... the black piece (actually a matt PPF decal) has been positioned to line up with the GT4 lip and accentuate the subtle rear wheel arches. This is the third prototype and I think the guys have got it pretty much right- seems to give the whole car a subtle lift... will see how it goes

... and scoops are for ram air like GT4/GT3/RS!!! But yeah... probably clashes a bit with the lightweight design concept of the Spyder... after installing them the sides really did look slabby hence the sill and stripe too to help break it up.

cheers

Great look - can you share a source for the black sill decals?

Great Winter Boxster snaps. Looking forward to visiting Dartmoor in 2019. Free from speed traps ?
