Default Gas Overfill

Hi All,

I have 2007 987 Boxster with 57k miles. When I was filling the car up
at a gas station yesterday, I was surprised when the pump didn't shut off
automatically when full and gas suddenly poured down the fender.
The amount of gas wasn't very large, as I noticed the condition fairly quickly... probably 4-6 ounces. I informed the attendant about the
problem and small gas spill, and he thanked me but didn't seem to
care much.

I wiped down the paint on the car and drove off. My initial concern
was only my paint, but when I got home I started thinking about the
EVAP system. What are the chances that this overfill flooded the
EVAP canister with liquid fuel? So far, the car is running fine, and
there's no CEL.

Thanks!

Chris

Well, after several weeks I haven't had any issues (i.e.
no check engine light, etc.) as a result of this. I waxed the
fender shortly after the incident... paint still looks good.

Thanks!

Chris
