I would be concerned with having to drill the body to accommodate this mod... Sounds like it's non-reversible.

I'm not clear yet as to whether the holes need to be drilled into the actual body panel of the car, or into the black plastic removable insert?

Regardless, in any other situation drilling into the body would be very concerning. But, considering this is exactly what they do with the gt4, we know the scoops are functional, and I get to see exactly how they look.. it's one permanent modification I'm willing to make. I saw a photoshop of a spyder with the gt4 scoops and it looked like it had quite a bit of it's mojo lost to the gt4 back... in fact looked even better as the roof was down. If i find it I'll post it.

My very short mod/accessory list:
-Porsche Clear LED Sidemarker lights
-Expel Paint Protection Film: Complete Front Bumper, Hood, Windshield Frame, Fenders, Mirrors, Rockers, Door Edges and rear lower Bumper
-Porsche All Season Rubber Mats
-Rennline Front Tow Hook Plate Bracket?

My option list however scares me at times ;)

Curious to see how that looks.

Hey guys!

Maybe helpful for your projects.. Check out our brand new 981 Spyder DB Carbon windshield cowl and GT4 air scoops:

http://shop.db-carbon-interieur.de/e...ts/1138SY-0001

http://shop.db-carbon-interieur.de/e...ts/1270SY-0001

Those GT4 air scoops are OEM secured by 3M double sided tape and additional little screws in the body. Itīs the question if those additional screws are necessary, Porsche fixed already other parts with 3M double sided tape only..

I'm doing the clear markers. That's it for now

Mark Dreyer 11-22-2015 09:51 AM

I did the clear bra up to the doors, and my SA installed the clear side markers free as a gift upon delivery.

Mark, which brand, and do you notice any differences between the covered and non covered panels?

I went with the shop that the porsche dealer SA raved about. I'm pretty sure he used 3M products, based on my recollection of the initial conversation a couple months ago. I can't tell any difference. He did an awesome job.

Not for me. Personally think the wheels are a big part of the identity for the Spyder. That's just my opinion though.

Ditto.

Other than clear bra etc I'm really considering a red SC face since it wasn't available to us. Need to sit in the car to get a feel before deciding though.

Backup camera eventually, maybe plasti dip wheels. Really not happening for a while though.
