Hope it works out. I think it will be harder (i.e., more gut wrenching) to spec a GT3 than it was for our Spyders. Some difficult choices, the wing and MT perhaps being at the top of the list. Good luck nailing down the build.

So I went thru with swapping out the CD-R for pcm and I am so glad I did! When i bought my Spyder I really wished it had nav n xm, where i live and drive phone service can be very spotty

I wanted to keep my Spyder stock looking thus aftermarket was not an option

The conversion was a huge success and exceeded my expectations every looks as if it was straight from factory

Huge thank you to navi_codes@yahoo.com, he provided all the activation codes which worked flawlessly

So now my car has nav and satellite radio and I can stream music!

Anyone thinking about doing SHO lent hestitate

All in cost me hair under 2k which is less than the original infotainment option

^^^ Wow that's cool! Did you have to install the wart on the trunk for the sat radio and nav?

The nav Oem antenna location is up in the rear view housing
And sat radio I used an antenna from xm which I purchased off amazon
I have for now It positioned up front in the corner of where the front fender and front hood cowl meet kind of where the wipers are, its magnetic so I can move it around to see where it works best
But there will never be a wart

Take a look at this Spyder currently for sale:

https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...o-1-owner.html

Note what appears to be red stitching from what I can tell on the alcantara wheel and on the shift boot. We know the Spyder Classic interior didn't come with red stitching on these items.

Note also that the build sheet indicates the car came with the smooth leather wheel and shifter, but the wheel and shifter in the pics are clearly alcantara.

I'm guessing the owner replaced the smooth leather wheel and shifter that the came on the car and substituted in their place a wheel and shifter and boot from a GT4 which, as I recall, did come with red stitching. Not an inexpensive mod and I'm not sure the dealer selling the car is even aware of the switch.

I always wondered how [guards] red stitching would look in the Garnet Red Spyder Classic interior and although the pics aren't the best, it looks like the stitching blends in well with the Garnet and doesn't stand out as being a drastically different shade of red.

So figured out the mounting on satilite ant.

Decided to put a strong magnit on the underside of the hood cowl

Plenty strong to hold it In place any speed

This way it does not alter anything if ever I want to remove it

Very pleased with the final outcome and so I glad I did it

Default Pepita mod goes mainstream

Not sure if this pepita alternative offered by Suncoast has already been posted:

I'm pretty sure they are just offering exclusive option product not an oem part

I'd love houndstooth inserts to match my original seats in my '71 914, but 2.5 is a little steep!!! I'll wait for a 50% deal...

They are pricey especially when you consider that they are simply covers ... "You reuse the original foam core and simply install the easy to slip-on covers; they are installed in the same exact same manner that the OEM Alcantara covers were. We have taken steps in developing these bespoke seat insert covers to match the original specifications for quality and exceed expectations for aesthetic design and durability."

They are not an OEM part they are from Exclusive Option

2,400, that includes the KY jelly right? I must be getting old because that is what I would expect to pay to have two complete seat jobs including all new leather, stitching and inserts. Any competent upholsterer should be able to bang out those inserts way cheaper than that.

$500... all in, fabric and upholstery work.. and that was in San Francisco. This is an easy job.. go find the tartan or pepita or Mickey Mouse fabric of your choice, bring your favorite upholstery shop 3 yards of it (2 is tight), and they just copy paste the normal inserts.. super easy and you can choose whatever fabric you want.

Calexio, do they reuse the OEM pad or make a brand new set with Velcro attachments and new foam? I'm interested in doing this but I would be want to retain the OEM cushions.
