Surprisingly the 987.2 manifolds from Cargraphic showed up in 1 week; IPDs shortage of down tubes ends Thursday and we are hopeful that while I'm headed to Barber this weekend Kyle will have the headers on and the intake sewn up! Stay tuned!

P.S. Other than the flange difference, this is the same manifold for the street GT4 owner!

I just talked to Mooty and he's already scared about this thing running him down. I am going through my brain thinking of everything that i can do to make this thing crowd the mirrors of GT4 and 991 GT3 owners. Most of what i need to achieve is deep in the ECU but the time frame on this one is just enough so that i think I can get it all done.

Question, will the 996 GT3 Cup front caliper and rotors fit on the OEM front Cayman uprights or are the Cup uprights also required?

You need a 997.1 or 997.2 Carrera S front upright to accommodate the bolt spacing for the 996 GT3 Cup front caliper and that is what we got approved for the 24 hour brake package. HOWEVER, Wrightwood Racing in Oxnard now makes for us a bracket and they modify the caliper to bolt to the Cayman 987 front upright. You can use a 997 OE disc or his AP racing GT3 floating 2-piece motorsport hat and disc assembly. So, to answer your question, yes they will fit and no the Cup upright is not required as long as you have the bracket and purchase the modified caliper. A virgin caliper with no modification will require a 997 3.8L front upright. We have sold a lot of these over the last year. It is a really nice piece given that you would otherwise be required to spend $1500 + in uprights and labor removing the bearings and hubs from your 987 spindles.

I have a guy working on something like this to accommodate the 997 GT3 caliper and larger front disc but that is still in development. We want the 380s up front on there but it's still several months out. After January I think it will be available. For now, we typically run a 350mm up front with this setup. We use the Alcons because they're the lightest thing around and once we went to the 30mm disc that they used on the factory M3 race cars, we have good longevity.

3 things are official: the DME has been flashed with the "hot sauce," I have road tested her AND I have forgotten how much pleasure you good West Coast folks are being robbed of with your 91 octane! That stuff has to go!!!

@Chris F - The "Sebring Showdown" is now officially on! I will respond to your email shortly. My nephews visited the shop today and I put them to work! I posted that photo in the other thread!

More to report later about Petr's visit with the purple 991 RS and how the video shoot of the Launch Control in front of our neighbor's driveway has next door relations on high alert!

I just went out for another test drive. @ChrisF, this is going to be a good matchup. The revised ECU flash is set to 7850 RPM now to keep the RPM levels among both cars the same. I was just looking at your beefy Michelins that arrived for your GT4 and i think that the rubber will be helpful BUT those big 20s are going to rob some torque from you, of which Steve's car now has plenty!

It's close...the Spyder and GT4 motors have a few less ponies and similar lb/ft for torque.

She's ready finally! We are just finishing the alignment. A big storm rolled through yesterday. Time for a long road test!

The more I drive this car the more impressed with it I become and the more I start to really love it. The car owner will be very happy; GT4 owners on track may not be as they wonder why they can't shake this annoying blue 987.2 R but that's why we do what we do!!!
