it that a 1) "newly sleeved case", 2) a new case, or 3) a new case sleeveless case that has been sleeved with new sleeves? sorry, i'm the curious type. haha and where's it from? porsche...after-market?
and about that box of pistons ...looks like it's been sitting on someone's shelf for quite a while and that ALWAYS makes me nervous.
looking forward, very much, to the build.

Going back in this weekend. I think the only useful thing I've learned for a DIY person is the only special tool you really need is the one to put the wrist pin clips in pistons 1-3 (I think it's 1-3) everything else you can work around.
I used a regular engine stand, and a basic set of tools. You will need a VERY GOOD torque wrench. One that measures degrees. Most every bolt is something like 'pull to 25# then 78°'
I used a snap on digital. It was only $750 and I'm glad I bought it. The only other helpful tool was a good leak down test kit, not needed but gave me a piece of mind after I had the heads on.
also, I think it's fair to add, my engine had minimal bore score Cylinder 3 had a very leaky valve. My engine was very carboned up as well. My intake was full of dirt from a POS K&N air filter that some genius probably was bragging was 'mod'.
