Puzzler: reprogrammed computer and now no sound
As part of my Boxster S to 911S engine swap, the engine management computer was reprogrammed. There is no longer any sound from the PCM.
I can tune the radio to a station and the radio visually places the station's call letters on the screen as it is supposed to, but there is no sound coming from the loudspeakers.
The trouble might be a coincidental amplifier failure, but the system no longer acknowledges that a CD has been inserted, which I wouldn't think could be amplifier related. It also doesn't remember that I have satellite radio.
Question: does the engine management computer have anything at all to do with the PCM? Might the reprogramming be responsible for the lack of sound and the other symptoms? If so, what parameter(s) is involved?
TIA !!!

One should not have anything to do with the other. Good luck Fred!
