Thanks. There's something magical about the way the clouds lined up on this shot. And the spyder top contrasting the guards red paint and silver wheels .. Just looks superb. Enjoy.

Last shot is very nice. Classy car with silver wheels. But looks like it's time for recycling as per your other posts. Good luck with whatever you decide. My plug for the 987.2 spyder is that there's always going to be improved versions of the newer cars (gt4, gt4rs, .2 gt4/.2 981 spyders) and this is just a beginning in the paradigm shift of modern cars for Porsche. But 987.2 is the last of a breed. Ask Walter Rohrl. He knows !

Thanks Woot. Like I mentioned in my other posts, I always get this itch - but every time I get into the garage I have a hard time letting her go.

Maybe she is the one ;-)

Lovely pictures, makes me wish I ordered red!

As far as the "itch", being a car guy I usually get it after the 2 year mark and doesn't go away until I have made a change. To date I haven't owned a "hobby" car longer than 2.5 years until I bought the Spyder. I

t's not to say I haven't had the itch, it came on right around the 2.5 year mark with the Spyder. But when I compare the Spyder to any other car on the market below $100K I really can't find a good reason to make the switch. I'm not keen on the direction that modern cars are going and the Spyder is more capable than most high performance cars of yesteryear. So it's definitely not performance that will make me switch and that leaves the looks and experience. The Spyder is a treat to drive and I feel very involved when driving it. I love the noise it makes, I love the feedback it provides and I love the open air experience. It could be slightly louder but that's an easy fix with aftermarket exhaust. So if not experience I have only appearance to make me want to switch. The F355 has always been on my radar and I would love to own one but I'm not sure I'm willing to trade the reliability of Porsche for Ferrari. And the longer I own the Spyder the more beauty I find in the overall design. It's amazing how well the lines on the car flow together, everything from the smallets details like the trim and lights right to the dual humps at the top. Why change....I certainly haven't found a reason after four years.

Certainly the Spyder is a special car.

Agreed. I don't know how they did it, but by making small tweaks to the 987.2 exterior Porsche has produced one of the most beautiful and distinctive cars on the road. I'm not just saying that because I own one - it is for this reason that I so desperately tried to find one. Add on the facts that it is one of the most well-reviewed cars of the past 20 years and the uniqueness of the top and it truly is a classic (to me).

I too have never had a car for more than two years - the spyder is going to be 2 in August.

Woot made some great points earlier that really got me thinking, and while I never know what's going to happen, the 'itch' has temporarily been scratched by taking some curves in the spyder then giving it a nice detail

I love white spyders and have a nice poster of one in my garage. My top came with it as part of the sale. You can order one in black or light grey (which is good as it won't absorb heat) for $60.00 from Autoanything.com. Its made by Covercraft and part # is IC2029SG/SKU 3829264.

One of the best memories for me has been driving it over mountain passes with light snowfall with the top off. When it becomes too heavy I like the top on ..
