Interesting start to my ownership. Gas tank was near empty for the container trip so I had to refill quickly or be stranded on the road but I didn't realise the Battery hadn’t held much charge after 3 months of no use so when I stopped the car at the station it had no charge and ended up stranding me at the petrol station blocking a pump lane. All within 4km of driving from the freight forwarder!
The Bonnet/frunk wouldn't release without a battery so YouTube was my friend, but only after I had pushed the red terminal out the back of the fuse box and had to take the trim off to get it.
I bought a new battery as the old one was deemed to have a 60% remaining capacity, if fully charged and I’m done with eeking out the last amp in failing batteries.
All good now. Especially as I now know why the PSM light went on (bad battery and again on battery change)

Congrats John! Kind of a mood kill with the dead battery but that’s minor and frankly not really surprising considering the journey it just took. I and I imagine many others would love your impressions after previously owning an Cayman R and also currently owning a 964.
Enjoy in good health!

Thanks Afshin, I’m in love with the shape. A spirited drive is the next objective. So far it feels very similar to the R. Agile and light weight. I will start my own thread rather than hijack this one.

My spyder 2.0 landed late this evening
and this time i’m not making the mistake of selling it ...
Spy(i)der squared : Its always a nice sign to see a spider welcome in a spyder to its new home !
It’s no doubt a stroke of Weissach genius

Congrats Amar, she is absolutely stunning! The full leather makes for a really nice upgrade on the interior.
I’m looking forward to seeing the memoir continue with this new keeper.
Enjoy in good health.

A question for the group here: my Spyder unfortunately came with a front plate. Thankfully I don't need to run one in my state, so I got a set of bumper plugs that match the front and look great. Nevertheless, the clear film on the front of the car has yellowed a bit and is due for replacement soon. What would you guys do?
1. Replace the film, keep the bumper plugs?
2. Replace the front/replace the film
3. Maybe it's possible to keep the front/fill in the holes somehow, and then replace the film?

I had the front bumper repainted and the plate holes filled. Then XPEL PPF on all front panels and hood.
Front plates are an affront to aerodynamics and the great design of the Spyder.

I never realized the door windows were a different profile from the standard 987. Makes for an interesting line from the front windshield to the rear spyder humps.

The fashion in which the water streams along the side windows and dribbles at the edge of these side windows while driving in a downpour is simply magical. Brilliant design it is.
