Hey Paul,

that option does exist in Europe. You just have to ask for the Porsche Exclusive options list for the Boxster. It is in there.

Well I might get my car this weekend... I sort of want to wait a week or two now just because I don't want to deal with finding a parking garage. Anyway I might post a picture of the Platinum Wheels with the RSilver not sure though because frankly people can mean on this sight. I know, I'll PM you the pic if that's possible; I've not PM'd anyone yet.

Sorry, but trying to spread the news for those just beginning to look for a Spyder. USAA Car Buying Service is offering the Spyder as part of their discount program. Discount varies by dealer and inventory. But hey it may help.

http://www.pistonheads.com/road-test...r-driven/33298

hopefully not a repost.. new article from Pistonheads (in the pouring rain of course) discussing the "old school" charm of the Spyder and what a rare beast this type of machine is. Made for drivers.

I couldn't have said it better. This mirrors my experience also. Especially the sound. My oh my, the sound! My previous car was a 996 TT, and while a really fast, nice car in so many ways after I modded it, it just didn't check the boxes the way this car does right out of the factory with zero mods. I can't see ever selling it especially with the demise of the NA engines.

Hey off topic a bit, what's a great pair of driving shoes? Haven't owned a manual since I was 25. Wore my 16 year old sons nikes today. What's good?

I will sheepishly admit that I let the car rev match for me. I get my share of heel-toe rev matching at the track and these are the shoes I use. They are awesome. If you have a Wine Country Motorsports store nearby, you can try these type shoes on before buying.

Thanks Mark. What does this mean exactly "I let the car rev match for me."

Thanks

I use Sports Plus, so it rev matches on down shifts. If you aren't familiar with this, it is where the throttle blips to a higher rev on downshifts such that when you let the clutch out the rpm is proper for the selected gear, creating a smoother gear transition.

you can use sports plus even during break-in. and it literally does SOUND AWESOME. I've been heel-toeing all my shifts for the last 25 years and I cannot get the blip to be as sharp sounding as letting the computer do it
