GT4 Sport Chrono
What is everyone's opinion on the GT4's sport chrono? Is it just a gimmick more than anything else? Nearly $2k for an app to look at track times. I've never tracked, but for those who have, do you see any value in this other than the pretty center clock I don't have it on my build right now.
And as a side note, should Rennlist create a GT4 section aside from the 981....I think so.

NOOOOOooo!! Learn from my mistake! Don't get the track app! It's garbage!
You can't export video (hence my video recording of the phone), it doesn't interface with PCM and the sport chrono clock (they work independently), it's unreliable (see video above), it only uses either your phones GPS or the car's GPS antenna which only runs at 1Hz (only accurate to one second), and it doesn't auto start/stop.

1 sec is pretty bad..

I was debating this on my Gt4 order.
What exactly do you lose if you leave off SC? Are the dynamic mounts standard?
Is it really just the rev matching with the sport plus button or is there an even more aggressive throttle mapping ?
On my 997 GTS, there seems to be a pretty big jump with the sport plus button although most of that is due to the pdk
Thanks
Ryun

On 911s, I hate the wart. But on Caymans, the clock is sort of well integrated and the dash looks a little weird with out it. But still not paying $1800 for a clock and useless app.

Just got back from the track today and this was the result of my track app experience today:
1) 1st session I could log anything because the track had to be learned/programmed
2) 2nd session the program overlayed my data over OLD VIDEO from a DIFFERENT track from a DIFFERENT day 2 weeks ago
3) 3rd session worked, but I couldn't find the video of my best lap because they don't mark what your lap time is until you watch the very end of each lap
4) 4th session it recorded the first lap and then stopped working
I'm done with even trying to get this damn thing to work. Solo DL FTW.

And it also requires PCM, another $3,000 on top of the $1,800. Probably at least 20 pounds of electronics, speakers, and amps.
I'd go radio-delete and have a clean slate to work with for your chosen timing package and/or lightweight audio system. PAG's strong suit has never been their electronics, particularly audio/nav/communications. Extremely expensive with mediocre-at-best functionality.
