#2 at my dealer. Sales guy said, "Will prob be a $20k markup. You still interested in putting a deposit." Is that typical for limited releases like these?

I think you'd be crazy to accept a 20k markup. Find a Premiere Dealer and see how many names are on their list. Technically they are not supposed to sell beyond MSRP... There are technicalities and tricks some use to skirt this, but I'd ask for verification that if you buy through dealer X that they will not upcharge past MSRP.

Also keep in mind that for about 1/10th the cost of the markup you're being told you can order your GT4 from any dealer in the country and have it shipped to you.

Oh and don't ever pay over msrp especially if this isn't your first Porsche. I am sure I'll get my standard buys to many cars discount

I'm not quite getting your question. The dealer got 6 allocations today for gt4 caymans. This is a reputable dealer so I'm confident that they are on the up and up. Btw this coincides with other rumors of a feb 4 lift on press embargo

Hmm, spoke with two dealers today, they claim there are no allocations. Yet.

interesting. I pinged mine yesterday after hearing the post about the Canadian dealer. He immediately responded about the 6 they got allocated that day and said I got one of them. Perhaps he wasn't supposed to share that with me. We will see
