Default 2014 981 software update

Got a letter from Porsche about a software update for my 2014 981. Has anyone done this? What does it do? Any differences after its done?

I had it done over the summer. Its been a while and to be honest, I don't recall it making any difference regarding over all driving of the vehicle. IIRC, someone said there were more markers on the electric oil measuring screen after the update.

I had it done on my 14 Cayman S and according to the dealership it prevents the possibility of an early service reminder error. Kind of amazing really as they hook your car up to a direct line to Germany. The update is specific to your vin number. It takes about a half hour linked up to Germany. Mine took a little over an hour as they lost the overseas connection halfway through the process and had to start over. Don't expect 30 more horsepower on this one.
