Default IMS Direct Oil Feed

Anyone have experience with the Tune RS Direct Oil Feed? Have a low mileage (12/K) 2006 S that I am told is a candidate for the IMS problem.

Dropped the car today for the Direct Oil Feed kit to be installed & replacement water pump. Hurts to drop that much $$ on non-fun preventive maintenance stuff but "she who must be obeyed" likes the little thing.....I wanted to trade it on a Cheby motored plastic car. I lost.

Got the car back. The car, MY 2006, build date July 2005 with 12,000 miles has the larger IMS bearing that can only be replaced by splitting the cases. The bearing showed no signs of wear. Replaced the plastic water pump as recommended on older low mileage cars. No sign of degradation of the plastic vanes. Clutch disk was nearly new. Might appear I spent the $$ for no reason but peace of mind but I'm good with that since the car is really the wife's cruiser & she wants to keep it. Only took the shop, RS Motorwerks in Atlanta one day to complete.

Yes. Good job and now you have some peace of mind. I've heard that too about the Boxster being 'the wife's cruiser'. But seriously, who drives it more?
